When my 9 was dyno'd a few months back, we found that it was down on power and the AFR was quite odd, mainly after vtec

I really dont think it was my engine, but it definitely had an issue...

With the car having a huge overhaul and new engine, I'm wondering if it might be worth changing the FPR. A few people have mentioned this could be my issue, and I dont really want the same thing happening again when it's all back together.
Just wondered if people had any experience with a faulty FPR and if it's worth changing - and what the symptoms were if anyone's experienced this.
Or am I chasing the wrong thing here? :D lol

You can rule out your old bottom end. Nothing wrong with it.
Fpr or fuel pump are likely!

I have never seen a stock FPR go bad. Your engine is running rich up top but I see this quite often with the stock ecu. What kind of torque was the engine making?

Good to know John! im glad :D

80 peak :shocked: do you have any ideas?

Is that torque at the hubs or flywheel estimate? What breathing mods had you on engine?

I'd say it'd be a pretty fair assumption that it's not torque at the hubs - strange question for a tuner (correct me if I'm wrong) to be asking after seeing that graph..
Going on by the figure of 80lb.ft shown on the graph - were that torque at the hubs, flywheel torque would be <20lb.ft - it wasn't exactly the healthiest B16b, but it certainly wasn't throwing out "ride on mower-esque" torque figures!

Yes bit of a brain fart on my part! Torque does seem rather low, especially on high cam/vtec.

@nicole_ What breathing mods?

Errm dc2 intake, vibrant 421, decat and 5zigen pro racer
You could tell when you drove it that it wasn't right, was dynoed last year and print out reflects a healthy normal b16b. I can't remember what it was like when I first got it but remember it feeling slow and not as quick as I expected from the first track day in it a month after I got it :/

Was the cam timing checked at any stage? Also distributor timing?

Nope nothing, I knew the car was coming off the road and having an overhaul, so with no direction on possible problems I just kinda hoped I'd fix it while things are being replaced. But now I'm thinking more it may not be resolved if its something I havent changed.

One of my friend also have this kind issue. Before done top overhaul the AF ratio OK (3k rpm - 6k 13 AFR) and high rpm 12.5 AFR. After complete doing top overhaul on same dyno after VTEC the AFR going crazy rich (11.0-10.5 AFR). The only thing he change was Ignition Coil and need to turn max distributor to get 16 degree timing.
