Hey there guys.

I have recently opened my b16b head in order to change the gasket kit as the previous one was not oem and was leaking and therefore decided to make a few things right. I replaced the valves with some power division ones as they were in very bad condition. Now I need to change the valve guides as well, as half of them are almost destroyed. I am considering of buying either supertech or power division. What would be your advise? Also I was thinking whether I should replace the head studs as well to some arp ones. My mechanic assured me that it's not needed but I want to hear your opinions as well. Another thing is that if I stick with the oem head studs, what is the right torque I should use? 78 or something? I am very confused...

Supertech valve guides will be fine. No need for ARP studs on a NA build. Head bolts are torqued to 29Nm first then to 85Nm

I believe that the final torque for a k20 head is 39Nm? Do you know why its so much less than a b-series motor and what would you torque the k20 head bolts to before the final torque setting?

Thanks a lot mate for the information. Another thing that I wanted to ask is what is the difference between ordinary valves and over sized ones? Because I bought the ordinary set from power division but now I begin to think whether it was a wrong choice and whether I should choose over sized...

It's 39Nm then tighten all bolts 90 degree's and then a further 90 degree's, if new bolts go a extra 90 degree's(total 270 degrees)

Oversized valves just allow better airflow(if needed), the valve seats may also need to be changed depending on size of valves been used. For a mildly modded engine it's not really something you need to worry about, the stock valves are large enough.
