hi guys wondering if anyone on here could put me in touch with someone in the ayrshire area that could rebuild my ek9 think piston rings are away

Henry at Triple H, but there is a fair few horror stories about him but he is in ayrshire . You also have Gerry at PerformanceTek in Glasgow and Andy at Automek in eastkilbride

There is a few good garages in Scotland, dont be afraid to travel to get the work done. Do some research yourself as everyone has different opinions of places.

Pm me rob

I went to henry but hes going on holiday for a month plus just learned few people said to avoid though i have not heard why. I have sent performancetec and automek emails thanks for advice

I'd avoid performance tec and Henry to be honest I wouldn't let either of them touch a push bike never mind my car!

Best bet is looking for a good machine shop/engine builder plenty about! Just need to do some research :)

What's the script with Henry these days? He used to be the man for it all back in the day

henry got the car running for me but took him 2 weeks hes unpredictable time wise. I visited a few places looking for somewhere to rebuild it and none of them could help me but all said to stay away from henry but i dont know why.

Back in the day he was the man but recently a lot of cars have been going "pop" after being remapped by him. I personally know of 7. 3 of which blew up on the Dyno while he was remapping them. Apparently he is just careless these days when mapping cars.

It's a shame as there isn't much choice in Scotland for tuners. Performance HQ seem to be reliable and decent :)

Other than that they are all down South or Ireland.

Absolutely brutal mate obviously went right downhill from the name he used to have.

Yeah performance HQ are right up there nowadays a lot of good things being said.... Plus had a RR day there and the set up is great!

its blue smoke on acceleration sometimes worse than others. it had a compression test but im guessing leak down test would be more accurate ?

Compression test will tell you your compression mate. Leak down test will tell you where the compression is being lost. Rings, valve seats, head gasket.
