Hello guys,

I was thinking of keeping my current Defi guages from my previous vehicle, but now I am looking into some sort of electrical multi function piece of equipment.

I came across:

BLITZ Power Meter i-Color Flash Multi-Function Display

Says that:

*In order to use the Blitz Power Meter i-Color Flash to measure water/oil temperatures, oil pressure, and the air/fuel ratio, you will need to purchase the Temperature Sensor Set, Pressure Sensor Set, and A/F Box separately.

Where are the readings for pressure/temp's taken from..is a sandwich plate needed?

I want to ensure the readings the display shows are accurate!

There is also this:

BLITZ Racing Monitor DC

Display looks small though. Would want something that displays 2 to 3 readings at the same time if possible.

Now this one looks great:

Blitz R-VIT i-Color Multi Function Display

Where exactly does it plug in?

Says:

Installation is simple, it is install just by connecting to the vehicle diagnostics coupler. It features a 65,000 Color LCD screen and multi angle display. It can be set on three different angles depending on the location of the installation. R-VIT i-Color monitors a maximum of 29 items and able to display 6 monitored items simultaneously."

Will it really be accurate if taking electrical readings or stock gizzmo's?

This also looks sweet, extra sensors needed..but sensors that connect where?

Defi Link Display

Consider the PLX iMFD OBD2 gauge. Much more functional and customisable.

Sensors can be mounted whereve you want to read the temp/pressur from. on oil youd use a special fitting where the oil press switch is IR near the vtec solenoid for two examples

Depending on what currency you're using you could conside one of these:

AiM Sports - How to Choose the right MXL Race Data Acquisition System

I have been emailing the supplier in Australia and there is a plug and play module for OBD2a (96-98 EK9) so it uses all the OEM sensors etc.

Maybe a bit hardcore for a street car but there's no denying that its mega bling

Not too long ago they were being sold for $1,000 local money, or about 300 quid, or roughly US450.

Waaaaaay better value for money than pretty much any gauge setup you can buy...

I will be getting one for my race car sometime soon when I can pull the money out of my arse

Wow, that is nice and does not seem overally expensive?

Guess this replaces the original clocks...

Where is the OBD port?

It should be on the computer harness, lets wait ek9turbo tells us where :)

on 96-00 uk/usdm civics its right near the fusebox but on ANY JDM civic or EK9 included you wont find one. The reason for this is that the Japanese didnt fall into line with new international emmisions regulations until 2002, thats why most imports between those years have no secondary O2 sensor after the cat either!

What you will find though on all 92-00 B-series harnesses is a set of sockets with terminating caps under the intake manifold. The senior technician at my local dealership told me this is for a special diagnostic unit made for honda that lets the holder see all sorts of sensor information (voltages, shorts, resistance, etc). Wish I had one, I do love specialist tools. :D

Would one of these units designed to plug into the PBD port plug into the sockets with terminating caps though?
