Just after some information (have done a search of the site but come up with nothing so far) my can has a navy finish with pearl and the paint on the middle of the roof and bonnet is starting to degrade i.e fading/showing up whiteish (note sure if it is just the clear coat..). This is happening pretty quickly (car body is a 95 so its 12 years old) and I am just after tips to slow the process down till I can afford a complete paint job - hopefully around November this year. If I get a change I will post pics and any thoughts/tips would be helpful :thanks:

do you have snow some time in the year?

do you leave your car outside with no cover at all ?

if you can wax your car 1 time a week it'll help!

We had a freak snow in last winter (June) but we do not normally get snow as our town is pretty much as sea level.

Garaged at night - so not effected by frosts in winter, during
the day unfortunately the car parking at work is all uncovered so I think that's got a lot to do with it - also New Zealand's UV exposure is just about the worst in the world...

Looking like I will make the effort and wax that often to slow the process down a bit :thanks:

sounds like sun damage, as rvm stated wax it. it may help slow the process.

as blinx990 said, it's sun damage, try to wax your car 1 time a week, and don't use that wax that is specially used when you want to remove paint scratches, sorry i don't know the name in english
