Decat pipes/header question

A very quick one guys.....

Can all decat pipes fit the stock header on the EK9? or is there specific ones?

Will the decat then fit "ANY" aftermarket header when i come to buy one?

Basically i want to get a decat for the meatime, then when funds alow buy an after market 4-2-1 header.........

it is specific to the EK9. It must be 2.5in. version.

Then it will also fit the aftermarket header down the road.

I advise you get one that is resonated. I will let others chime in on places to purchase.

What does it mean "resonated"?

resonated means it is built like a straight through back-box. It has packing to silence the 4 cylinder's inherent shriek and raspiness.

Though generally more expensive, they have been replicated and reproduced by other smaller tuning firms and are generally CHEAPER than the branded JDM (non-resonated) decats.

The only negative I can think of, is that it about a 1lb or 2 heavier than your JDM units. A price well worth paying for the sound quality it will help your exhaust produce.

I'll second that mate, I bought a resonated de-cat on RA's advice a couple of months back after coming from a non resonated item, and although I missed the scream at first, there'e no doubt it produces a far better sound.

Does anyone have experence with the ''twisty'' de cats like the look of them but do you think it will work ? or just stick witht he norm ?

Thanks for that mate.... Thats last item, yes that is a great price but will it fit on the stock header? and then fit onto the uprated header at a lata date.

I only question this as its says to use on JDM header? And is this resonated?

If yes is the anwser to all my questions then i will get ordering!

Yes it will fit on the stock EK9 header, I have it installed with my stock header at the moment and will be fitting my vibrant header with the smae decate this weekend. So all good. The reason it says JDM header is because the JDM header is 2.5" (standard EK9/DC2 diameter).

And yes, it is resonated.

Can i ask, was it a good noticeable gain in power when you replaced your stock cat with this?
