So, I was driving my standard 97 ej9 to work this morning as normal, then the green key light flashed a couple times and the speedo dies....think nothing of it as the car still runs and I could fix it later.

About a mile down the road the car cuts out and now won't start. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated as I rely on this car everyday. Never gave me any trouble prior to this.

Thanks

Sounds like it could be related to the key chip/ immobiliser box thing,
Try your spare key?
I'm not exactly sure what the immobiliser cuts but I'd try testing for power to the ecu, fuel pump etc

Don't think it is now, went to start it and the green light wasn't even flashing. Disconnected the battery and started checking fuses. 1 was blown. The alternator sp sensor. Presuming it stands for speed maybe? Put a fuse in and started fine no problem. Turned off and wouldn't start. Blown again. So I know that's the issue.

So any ideas what I need to do from here? Speedo still doesn't work and engine management light is on. Hopefully all linked to the one problem.
