First off I know everyone will say don't do it get a b series but tbh I can't afford a b series, as much as I'd like one, its just too much considering I have found this 83kw d16 with Ecu wiring loom, shafts, linkages etc for £150 delivered. (Couldn't even get a b series block for that)

Just wondered whether anyone knows of any issues with fitting this engine in an ek as its from an Aerodeck. Main issue I can think of is the mounts, is it possible to use the d14 mounts or will I have to get d16 mounts fitted?

Sorry for the newb questions I'm all new to this engine swap stuff but as everything is so cheap I'm willing to give it a shot.

Thanks in advance

When i done a d16 swap into my ej9 d14 car, we had to use mounts off my old engine to get it to fit properly. Shout fit as think they all bolt onto the engines the same, just where it bolts onto the car is different for each model.

Not sure how the ecu etc will work either if its coming from an aerodeck? As my swap was from a obd2a delsol and it was going into a obd2b d14 civic. So just had to use the ECU from the delsol, a ecu conversion harness and a obd2b vtec engine loom from an ek4.

Well if the biggest issue is the loom and ecu then all I got have to do in theory is find a loom. But just need to work out which loom and ecu. I've read that the d16w4 is basically the same as the y8 (although how true that is I don't know)

I hate wiring. Why can't it be simple haha.

Wiring is simple haha just plug em in if they dont fit it wont work thats it really an just remember where everything goes ul do it no bother man.

I pm'd you there as well :nice:

Just need to find the right wiring and ecu. Or at least find out that if I can make the aerodeck wiring/ ecu work. Many more hours of searching and researching ahead I think haha

Well I've just found out the w4 is the same engine as the y8 but with a fast idle valve. So should a y8 loom/ecu work do you think? Sorry for the newb questions.
