car wont start

Not even sure tbh mate id guess the battery was out so unlikely to be related but I dunno just thinking of reasons why it would stop starting. Coil maybe effected by exposure to welding current/voltage? I've heard of tig having negative impact on electronic devices, phones etc. Or at least thats what the welding instructors/lecturers at my college say. Could be to get the lads to put their phones away for five minutes tho lol.

Tried dizzy off the other ek9 and tried mine on that ek9 and it's definitely not my dizzy. Works fine on the other ek9 and different one made no difference :(
Plugged it into s300 and nothing
Tried standard ecu and nothing

Take it we've checked fuses and earths etc?
Not sure what to suggest next really.

Also just thinking out loud and it's proper cowboy hat stuff but... intercooler pipe off throttle body, spray bottle with some petrol and see if you can convince it to go with a human fuel pump.

Easy start!
I used to work for some dodgey ex-gangster(old boy now) at a van hire place, he had this van that wouldn't start on its own, so he wanted to put it back through the auction.
He had me plumb a hose pipe into the intake and run it to the scuttle panel as discreetly as possible so that he could just walk up to it and spray the easy start into the hose just before the auctioneers came to start it.

Come to think of it I probably owe half of my thriving gypsy fab empire to him!

Did you changed the spark plugs? Sounds to me like you used the wrong spark plugs.

Oliver

I'm not sure this would cause the issue but it could be worth checking out or trying another main relay.
Should be located on the left of the glove box

Wondering if you got all the alarm wiring guff out properly?
Is there a set procedure for removing an alarm/immobiliser? Surely a thief could just cut the wires of the system otherwise?

All obd2 dizzy's are the same, don't matter if it's from a B16A2, B16A, B16B, B18C, B18C6 or B18C4, they are all interchangeable
They aren't
The EK9 ignition coil and igniter unit is the same like B18.
But B16 are different.
cheers

I might have one of these you can try if needs be

I'd imagine that the immbobiliser sent a feed or earth/code to the ecu enabling it to start... Like Jesse said people would just cut them out and Nick the car. There must be a feed or input missing?

A missing earth or bad earth connection is a good thing to check like mentioned

I have forgot to earth my injector loom before and that will stop the fuel pump from even priming, is your fuel pump priming ok?

Also, my old EK4 had an inertia switch that cuts the fuel pump etc in the case of a crash, does the ek9 have an inertia switch? It usually sits behind the dash between the centre consol and the glove box. When I removed my dash to paint the inside of the ek4 I forgot to plug the inertia switch back in and it wouldn't start

Same thing dude, trust me the amount of engines i have had

All interchangeable, every dizzy i have changed or sold work on any b16 or b18

One to check - I presume various earths were removed when the interior was painted? Have they been bolted straight back in or were the earth points cleared of paint first?
