Wasnt sure where to post this...but i've seen this on Funky Powers website and its only £45 so i have a few questions...,

1)will this allow me to lower when the vtec kicks in?

2)Do they connect to the ECU?

3)how much is it to get wired/tuned?

4)Anyone know anywhere in the midlands area of England (im from nottingham) that does it?

Thanks in advance, dogzy. :nice:

They really that bad? lol for £45 to lower where the vtec kicks in seems quite cheap, what are the downers with it? :secret:

i just dont think you understand dude...
its not just as simple as turning down the vtec...if you drive the ek9/gear change properly there is no need to lower the vtec

to get any gain from lowering the vtec you will need to adjust fuelling and ignition also and find the optimal crossover point on a dyno...

unless you wanna use a bc controller and have a big flat spot and just noise instead of a vtec jolt...??
is your car standard?

its crap, it will lower your vtec yes but the ecu will not match teh fuelling or ignition timing to suit, so its a waste of time and not good for your engine,, avoid it with a barge pole, if you want to lower your vtec properly you shaoudl get a proper aftermarket ecu or ems, such as a hondata s300, apexi power fc and hand commander or AEM and then remap on a rolling rd matching your A/F ratio and ignition timing to teh vtec drop

Cars a Ek4 VTI , 97 plate.

And yeh, i was just wondering about them lol. i thought a remap or new ECU would be needed for it to work properly. The car isnt standard, the mods are as follows...

Exterior:
16" Rota GT3's wrapped in Toyo T1-R's
Muteki Black Open Ended Lug Nuts (Locking)
Resprayed front bumper with no. plate holes filled
Funky Power EK9 Colour Coded Grill (the best replica)
Honda Access OEM JDM Wind Deflectors
Honda Access OEM JDM SiR Lip
Honda Access OEM Rear Splash Guards
EK9 Rear Badge
Debaged Rear

Engine/Chassis:
FK Highsport Coilovers
Skunk2 Front Camber Kit
HKS Panel Filter (new one just fitted)
Full Mongoose Stainless Exhaust System (decat)
Mintex Pads
Buddyclub Shortshifter (with new energy bushings)

Interior:
Spoon Sports Shifter
EK9 Front Mats

Looking at this next FUNKY POWER - Europe's Leading Online Japanese Car Specialist

will i need a remap or new ecu and tune up to get the most benefit from a better than standard manifold or will i feel the difference without a remap?

thanks again, dogzy.

As you can see there isnt many mods increasing horsepower,so the next thing on the agenda is that, not really looking at new camshafts or owt just yet., bit out of my price range for the time being hah (skint). Just looking for abit of gain for reasonable prices, manifold and remap/ecu most likely.
