Alright guys, the time has come to get a new rad for my EK9, and rather than spend the money on a genuine Honda part (which is gonna be silly money anyway), I thought It'd be worth getting a fully aluminium rad.

Looking at a budget of £200-250, and I know there's the likes of Koyo and Yonaka out there, but was wondering if anybody had any experience with full aluminium rads and which was a good one to go for?

Any help appreciated..

Noticed it was leaking a little the other day around the upper hose neck. Took off the upper hose to investigate and the plastic neck on the rad crumbled in my fingers. Made the decision at that point I was gonna get a fully aluminium rad, cause this isnt the first time I've has trouble with the plastic neck's on rad's, my BMW did the same thing only 2 days after buying it, only it literally sheared off, drained all the coolant in seconds and all over the engine bay too!

temp sensor has nothing to do with it dude. Fluidyne is a better quality piece IMO. But KOYO is also good. I like the end-tanks and side-braces better on the fluidyne.

About 220-230£ for an imported fluidyne plus tax. but over here £250+ generally.

not really such thing as best rad, youll get mixed views but most common already mentoned in this thread which are good value

some cheaper ones popping up nowadays but have no idea of quality ie mishimoto but id just stick with tried and tested like koyo or fluidyne

I have got a large ally rad for sale but you would have to move your AC rad to fit it in .

I guess that's what living in a hot country will do to you, just itching to remove my AC at the moment, waste of space over here..

And I got myself A Koyo by the way guys, just fitted it today, will get some pics up soon.

Cheers for the help.

Any quality brand works fine for the street. Only on a serious hot running race car (like hillclimbers in hot climates) do you need a full width double wide aluminum radiator.

I agree with this :nice:

You wouldnt want your car to stay below operating temparatures for a long time especially in winter. With the SPOON(street version) radiator on my car, it takes a while to heat up when car is moving, and cruising on cold nights, I generally see the temp guage going down rather than up. Forget about double width... unless its made for track.

The dc2R might be double width, but also its almost half in thickness compared to the 9.
