Hi guys, looking to put my old b18c4 into a ej6 coupe I have. I believe I need to use a engine loom from a facelift ek4/9? There is a facelift ej9 with a b series conversion breaking near me. It has a obd2a loom, is this the loom I'd need? I'm planning on getting a p28 ecu and will probably replace the standard intake manifold to a skunk2 one.

Cheers

Is it a facelift or prefacelift coupe you've got man? Obd2a is a prefacelift loom :nice:

It's a facelift coupe I have Steve. The ej9 that's breaking is also a facelift. Can I use a preface lift vti engine loom in my facelift shell? Total newbie to the wiring game lok

What's obd is the engine? Don't know much about c4's, if it's obd2b then a facelift loom will be ideal, if it's obd2a then I think a facelift loom will work, depending on ecu. I could be wrong though! I haven't had to mess about with interchanging obd's before!

I'm not too sure mate. I kept the loom and ecu from the mb6 pk9 or something I believe. But after reading a few posts it seems to be a lot easier to use a facelift ek4vti loom as it's just plug and play and then get a p28 ecu and a jumper harness. Wanting to start gathering the parts as iv now asked the guys at my old work to start rebuilding the c4 :)

Ahh cool! My understanding of it is, get the relevant loom for the engine, then worry about the OBD of the car after when it come to the ecu side of things. And most of the time you need to then think of the immobiliser when using a different ecu so a p28 and jumper harness is the most convenient thing to do anyway!

That's kinda what I thought. Hoping people can shed some light! There's plenty b18c4 converted cars :)

Hi, first time posting on here,
How did you get on with the conversion. I only ask because I currently have an ej6 coupe and a vti aerodeck (both complete).
Bought a set of ek4 engine mounts but now looking at which loom or converter to use... totally in the dark with this one.
