Are there any difference between B18C4 an C6 cranks? My gut feeling is balancing...

of wikipedia

Crankshaft - Full-counterweight, 8-weight, high-output, custom crankshaft

Nothing that you should be worried about. There are plenty of high powered C1's out there with no issues what so ever. All OEM Honda cranks are excellent.

Cheers guys - will be on the hunt for a new crank soon that's all. Mine looks chewed, will post up pics shortly.

For some reason I thought the B18C Type-R crank was better.

I'm 99% sure they're the same

b18c6 is heavier due to slightly different counterweights, both can be fitted to the same engine as they are same stroke with same size journals on both the main's and rod.

this is a b18c4 crank, note the thin counterweights

b18c6, note the larger counterweights with no waisted portions compared to the c4 crank

If the engine is going to see a lot of high rpm revving then go with the c6(type r) crank

I know this is an old thread but i got a crank the other day in a B18C block and it has C4 stamped on it but it also has the R stamped on it. Can anyone help?
