B18C-R CAM SHAFT UPGRADE

Waste of time without a decent map to get the gains out imo.
If your looking for the closest to oem cam but for small increase over them I believe tuner 1s are your best bet on your spoon ecu.
Not dissing you or anything but I dont understand people that will pay good money for upgraded cams and still run a generic map ecu? All for the sake of having "spoon ecu" on the spec sheet?

You may get away with running tuner 1's without a remap but that is as big as you would want to go. Tuner 2's or Pro 1's will certainly require a remap. The stock injectors won't be big enough for T2 or Pro 1's so with changing to larger injectors you will have no choice but to go with a mappable ecu. Honestly, the Spoon ecu's aren't anything special so I wouldn't be so adamant about keeping it.

^ the man has spoken.
What he says I'd take seriously, the rest of us guess most of the time lol

This thread has gone way to serious lol i think a few of u are thinking to much into it, i appreciate all comments but Im only looking for a selection of drop in cams as potential option because the compresion has been raised slightly due to the head gasket. I may not even bother to do it as its alot of money to spend for not much gain.. Just looking for a few opinions on cam options. Mapping a type-r b series with breather bolt ons in my opinion is overkill and a waste of money for road use.. The spoon ecu will be more than enough.. With 4 years using them it has always done more than iv wanted out of it. I think a gearbox build is a better option for the money and performance for the road. If i had a all motor i know enough to know that mapping is the only option

The tuner stage 1 is like a drop in cam similer to type r cams wouldn't think you would make any more than that they make

Are b16b cams a bit more aggressive than b18c cams. Or is that bull if so that might be a cheap option for you

Yes they are but its only the inlet cam, i do believe that some 98 spec dc2's had them. I am concidering ek9 cams

your only options really them or tuner 1s I'm sure you will notice some sort of difference with tuner 1s. Just don't think the money you will pay for them is justifiable without a remap.

If your guna do internal/head work you might aswell do it propa stem seals valve springs n retainers not as expensive really as you think I didn't do to bad with it all just got bits n bobs here n their and it's flogging your old cams springs etc were you rep money back
