Hi all.

Recently noticed a small misting of oil coming from my oil pump and it's doing my head in! (Can't stand any sort of oil leak)

Question is, does it have a rubber gasket In between oil pump housing and the block or is something like Honda Bond used instead. Just want to make sure I know what to expect when I come to check it out.

Thanks :nice:

There's a rubber o ring on the pressure side of the pump going into the block and the rest is Honda bond.
There's also a seal in the centre.
Misting would suggest to me it's not the pressure side of the pump and likely the seal.
You can pick these out if your careful and then tap another one in to save you removing the pump, is a faff though.

Thanks. I'll get a picture of a pump and circle when I see the misting to give a better Idea. If I have to remove the pump or not, I'm not fussed aslong as I cure the leak lol.

Removing the pump would be the proper way tbh.
You can then re bond it etc and just attack the whole lot at once.

Yeh, that's the idea. I'm planning on doing my time belt again soon so it makes sense to do everything all at once.

Looks like it's leaking past the o-ring on the upper right hand corner of the pump, the rest of the pump is dry and clean. Does the B16A and B16B use the same pump? As I can use the part number for the o-ring from lings if they both are the same.

Nice! It would be good to replace the cam seals as well while all of this is taken apart. The cam seals generally wear faster and start leaking sooner then the oil pump seal.

Good luck! Its a big exercise.
