why not stroke your b16b mate and get the slight over bore and larger dia piston kit from spoon ?

Its cheaper and easier to do the conversion. I thought about stroking it but the kit is £800 ish and then getting the block bored, head skimmed etc. Ive had qoutes off places for £1700 for 98spec jdm engine..so only £500ish and a few serviciables and can be swapped in a day.

WOW, thats a VERY VERY high labor cost, ask the machine shop how much it is if you just bring them your bare block with all the new parts and they just bore/hone and assemble everything, in USA this is about $500 usd and most. you might get a little dirty tearing down the motor, and im not sure your mechanical level, but if this is something you can do yourself (take motor apart) you should save a lot of money. and at the end you have a brand new shortblock :) its what i did.

I know what you're saying mate, but if i sell my engine for say £1150 and then a b18c is say £1650 if i get a good deal, the conversion will cost £500 and another £100 for cambelt etc.
wheras if i was going to stroke my engine, its £800 for the stroker kit and about £80-100 for machine work, then another £100 for cambelt etc. so £1000 for stroker kit approx. £600 for conversion, you see where im coming from?

i do see what you mean, but with the stroker kit you have a new shortblock in the end, buying a used engine is a gamble, i got VERY lucky when i got my b16b, it was mint, but my friend got 2 b16a's and both where in VERY bad shape with over 150,000miles on them when the importer told us "35000 on the motors"...

my car is about to be stroked in the next couple of days when the kit arrives from spoon. they have taken over 2 months to deliver:(
my motor has about 60k on it and the guy doing the work said i dont need to get the over sized pistons and get my block bored out.
im just wondering if this will be ok and not loose performance or reliability

stock honda block can be bored out 2 times, dont worry, its fine, in fact you will gain performance.

£1150 anyone,
really sweet engine this

free bump for a minter of a b16b

the engine number on this car is the exact same as the chassis number (which is rare as their usually a few digits out), so it is definatly the original engine.

u sure you dont wana stroke it? bit more money and hassle but....

:)

I would like to stroke and i think i will to be honest craig, engine is a bargain i think and still no real interest. also atleast i know i will have a good engine as mentioned earlier in this post,

also mate, you have PM

Dave

Do you still have this B16B ?
I'm interested into this + ECU and harness.
Can i have the serial nr eventually?

I might take the block off you, don't need the head....that is if you're willing to break the engine...
