I have used the search function and googled this topic however cant seem to find much. I know it has been covered as in the past I looked into it before although I cant seem to find threads on it now, so if someone could link me to threads or point me in the right direction that would be great.

If I get the full engine out of a del sol a b16a including all auxilaries loom ecu shafts engine mounts radiator etc what all do I need to make it work in my facelift ej9 which is currently d series? I have found out that the gear linkages wont work? And from what I remember the del sol engine loom wont work rather I need a pre facelift ek4/ek9 loom? Also some modifications have to be done wiring wise regarding the dizzy etc if i remember correctly?

Thanks any help would be appreciated

Mounts
Loom
Ecu
Shafts
Front an rear breaks for better performance
Gear linkage from an ek4/9 eg6 or dc2
Thats all i can think of no need to go fidiling with the dizzy?

Thanks for your reply when you say mounts and loom will the del sol ones work? What about a conversion harness?

I know exhaust etc obviously Im more worried about wiring loom which one to use? What mounts I need and what conversion harness I need to make it work in a facelift ej9

Brakes for safety ej9 brakes are shite

Yes exhaust mani but the exhaust off the del sol wont fit to my knowlege

You might need a conversion harness from obd1-obd2 depending on the engine an ecu its easier to just start doin the conversion an see what ur missing then, the parts are easily got :)

Ya get ek4-9 mounts make sure none of them are torn and for a security measure tigerseal them.

Hope that helps

I have 282 brakes so not worried about that yet, I have a full ek9 exhaust so that's also not an issue. Can I not use the del sol engine mounts or do I need ek4/ek9 mounts? Can I use the del sol loom or do I need a pre facelift ek4/ek9 loom? Then I assume I need a conversion harness to run the pre facelift engine loom with my facelift dash loom?

Posting the same question on civiclife would probably benefit you more as the swap has been done quite a few times on there.

Never thought I'd say that...

Del Sol shift linkage, regardless of the engine/trans combination in the nose... "B" or "D", is dramatically different because the center tunnel is taller and the shifter is mounted higher than those in a Civic or Integra. This means that the shift rods from a Del Sol are too long for a Civic (EG or EK) and would bind and/or make contact with the exhausttubing in the center tunnel area.

So, as partially stated above, you will need the following to properly install a B16A from a Del Sol into an EK civic.

1) adapter harness to plug your PR3 ECU into the EK engine harness
2) modify the EK engine harnessto fit your B16A... you may need to use some plugs/wiring from the B16A Del Solengine harnessto do this.
3) '94-01 Integra shift linkage
4) depending on the year of your Del Sol, you may have to change to a '99-00 Civic Si rear "T" bracket
5) if the driver's side engine bracket has two studs/holes in it, you use the stock mount. if it has the 3 stud/hole bracket, you must change it to the '99-00 Civic Si bracket(2 stud) or buy aftermarket mounts as stated above. Thetransmissionmount will work, as well as both torque mounts from the Del Sol.
6) don't forget to bring the throttle cableover from the Del Sol to the EK

That covers the obvious stuff... without seeing your car. Good Luck.
