hi guys. I'm building my bottom end and I'm using arp main stud kit. The info with the studs says 80 ft lbs but that's massive. Tried it and the crank is locked solid. Anyone used these? Honda specs are 63nm for caps 1 and 5 and 74 for the rest. It's a big difference so not sure what the best thing to do is

You need to get the mains line bored with the studs in place.
The extra pressure of the studs bend the mains ever so slightly(atleast that's what I've read)
This is why I haven't done the mains, once you line bore you need to pay careful attention to the fitment of the oil pump and the crank will sit abit higher inside the inner pump gear. Causes all sorts of issues.

Personally, sell the mains stud kit and stick with oem Honda.

I read the same thing man cheers. This is why I love doing this stuff... Everything is so simple and straight forward :angry2:

Yeah your telling me. Wish everything was like Gran Turismo sometimes!

Haha your spot on there man! Couple buttons pushed and bosh all the gear ratios changed, engine stroked and re mapped. If only... Any one want to buy an arp main stud kit? Piece of piss to fit...

7:30 ring laps in an ek9, the world would be a better place!
