any good or just a waist of time ive ordered one and herd they are vey usefull peices of kit with vtec controler aside (as i know some people slag them off lol) are any of the other functions any good?

has no provisions for timing adjustment. So you're just tricking the MAP into thinking it's in another column vs. the actual load it is seeing.

The short answer is: Yes it does work.

Bottomline is: WooHoo, all those cool functions for me to look at while I'm driving so I miss the redlight and slam into the side of a car.

Personally, I think it's just clutter and isn't as powerful and useful as something like hondata.

yeah thats what i thought lol but im not exactly loaded at the moment everything has decided to hit me at once ie mot insurance bday partys!

i could hide it in the glove box ive seen that before now people putting guages and turbo timers, boost controllers in as the just look fugly imo

did you get any gains from it?

Yeh i did but i done my cams, springs, retainers, cam gears and a load of other stuff. I wont make much diffrence unless you have a good setup. Next time ask before you spend, that why we're all on this site. :nice:

well i have herd good things about them already but never really had anygood explaintions i was originaly getting a vafc but apexi said they are now discontinued so they offered me the afc neo i dont really know much about it tbh :(( probably abit silly

hmm, you should have researched before buying. See if you can change the order?

Ok guys I hear good things and bad things about these so whats the low down overall?
Stock engine with normal breathing mods any gains? is it handy to engage vtec early?

I'ts crap, for the price, money is better spent elsewhere...

i adjusted it to engage vtec at 5900 and to disengage at 5800 so i dont get the annoying "lag" as it were.

I got it with the car so it's not like i splashed out.

I got a spoon ecu coming at the end of the month so im not too overly bothered, i wired it in for the flashy lights factor.

a complete waite of money imo wish i spent the money someware else:angry:
im gunna sell it next year and save for a hondata or chrome p28 obd1 ecu
ive asked acouple of placves if they can tune it on the rr but they said no beacause apearntly they are really problematic
so marks out of 10? about a 4/10 im afraid, it only looks good and thats about it really its made no power gains, as my car has 163 bhp its only 5 over standard (ek4) but i expect my induction kit and exhaust have gained that power not the afc

they are ok, but best if the ignition timing can be tuned. Power doesnt just come from fine tuning AFR.

You MUST attend to the ignition timing correctly in order to ensure the engine is running safely.

Ignition timing can also ONLY REALLY be done correctly using a Dyno.

Hope this helps

best bet is S300 or something like that in order to have FULL control.

Its weird from a tuners persective and amazing still that many will throw fortunes on parts etc etc but hardly anyone will dip into their pocket for Engine Management :(

well im puting it up for sale now so i can get a p28 obd1 with crome as a friend of mine is getting the mapping stuff for them so ill give that a go:nice:
you can get an obd1 ecu fairly cheap now its just the other gubins like conversion harness which are usually around £100 and the chip if it needs one i havent really looked into it much
