So I bought my 9 not that long ago, linky to when I picked her up;

http://www.ek9.org/forum/members-rides/63616-my-first-proper-honda.html

This is hands down the best car I've owned. I've been itching to start working on it and with the nice weather we've had it was rude not to. So this is how it begins.

I took the bumper off and the lights out so I could see what condition the car is in. I was pretty happy with what I saw

I got to work with some rough grit and got most of the surface rust off and painted in some krust.

The rear light clusters had been siliconed up hopefully it was done properly.

Result, just a bit dirty. So it all got a good clean.

Then as these things happened there were a few things bothering me. The live feed to the fog light had been run through the cabin, which annoyed me, and the rear speakers had cable showing. So after a brew and the sun still shining I thought it would be best to check the inner arches properly.

so. Out came the rear trim,

The cables were still exposed so I thought why not I've started,

out came everything! On the left sill is the re-routed cables for the amp and speakers. On the right (probably can't see) I tucked the fog light cable.

No showing wires= happy andy :nice:

The whole car was nice after the carpet was taken out. There was a tiny patch of surface rust on the inner arch that can just be seen. Bottom right.

The drivers foot well had taken a bit of a beating so I got the dremmel on it.

The passenger side was much better to start.

has anyone else had a problem with the stereo mount rusting? It looks horrid
Same again, Just a little surface rust. So the krust came out again.

I sanded back any small spots of rust and treated them. Why did Honda not bother to paint the whole shell? So I got some paint and got ready to C/W the whole of the floor.

So as I write this I'm watching the F1 waiting for the sun to come out so I can get back on it. More updates coming.

So sadly after not getting used much... roughly 200 miles since i got it I parted with he civic and took quite a gamble on a (near) blind purchase of an siR CRX.
I'd always wanted one & with it going for a reasonable price I took it. Overall very pleased, not bad at all for rot but a few areas are in need of attention before it starts to be a real issue.
This is going to be a decent little track project so I have a few more pics of work to add on.
