Hi,does anyone have any suggestions on the most cost effective way to get approx 200bhp out of a b18c4 n/a? or would i be better playing with final drive? thanks

i think i de cat, a high flow manifold and a good air intake will do you. there about 190 bhp anyways.

if your not happy after that get a remapble ECU like a hondata. should be nocking out 200bhp easy i think :nice:

easiest way..........

Replace your engine with the "B18C" from the JDM DC2 integra, around 197BHP stock :) So that pretty much somes it up lol.......

completely biased but honest opinion backed by experience - hands down. final drive.

I'd supplement it with a lightweight flywheel and LSD if your C4 doesn't already have one. New clutch is also a plus.

nothing is gonna be cheap.................................................................

ok
so....
what is trying to be accomplished here 1st 2nd and 3rd track acceleration only...long high speed runs.. this is true its all about gearing needless to say with only 5 gears to play with :angry2: priorities come into play always a lightened flywheel and all that will help but you will most likely be the most satisfied with f/i set up "of course" ... -> *hands down* with stock gearing and an active boost/wastegate controller..
...just save your lunch money and swap a k/w hondata and you wont have to upgrade ni pinga

I have to agree with RagingAngel for best improvments!
I have heard nothing but good comments about upgrading the final drive!
I have a B18C in my 9 & the FD will be the next thing i do to mine!

I would say expect to spend a hell of a lot more money getting your engine to 200bhp & wouldnt be much in the diffrence from just doing you FD

Im going to stick a b16a2 box on at the weekend and see if its any better. Yes sorry i should have said. I intend to use the car for 1/4mile n/a class

check out the orange and black eg. not a great deal of power and into the 11's. I assume it is to do with gearing and set up as i have had 350bhp cars of similar weight in the past only managed to run 12's. That is what made me respect honda!

This clip is infamous here because I've whored it out every opportunity I've got....

right click save as please.

Close gears and just a hair under 200whp. Gearing from the 16A will definitely help you....and even more so if you add the final drive to the 16A box.

13.6 is a respectable time I must agree... Removed the s9b box on Saturday and fitted a b16a2 box. The car accelerates much better now and is certainly more fun to drive. The gear box takes advantage of the vtec and it is much more practical for use on the road. Especially in 3rd and 4th gear. I would certainly advise fitting one to a b18c4 to anyone who may be contemplating the swap. The car will still pull off the clock also so I would not be too concerned with loosing top end performance. I raced a friend with a stock EP3 and can confirm that I was pulling away from him. Next improvements: inlet manifold, v2 and full exhaust system. Thanks for all the advice.
