HI All,

I know this is an EK9 forum but I have found alot of very useful/helpfull info on this site so thought I would pick your brains.

As per my title, I drive an EM1 Civic. It runs great but have noticed a strange noise. When your higher up the rev range, around 7500 and upwards there seems to be a noise from the engine. Hard to describe but it seems to be a kind of blowing/whistling sound. Its not a super loud noise but is noticable. Any ideas? the car still runs fine and pulls hard.

I know the owner before me painted the rockercover, so could it be the head gasket that was ill fitted/playing up?

Thanks in advance for any help
Cameron

The head gasket is not affected/removed in anyway when painting the valve cover. If you are concerned do a compression check, its most likely something stupid like the intake filter or something...

Yea, you know what like, hear a noise and **** yourself lol. IT is only when your hooning the car I guess.

Im using a Spoon drop in filter with OEM airbox minus resonator.

cheers for the reply

Sounds like your hearing the air box at the higher revs. I wouldn't worry about it to much. If the car still performs ok and no check lights are on you should be ok. Each intake makes a diff noise. My AEM one makes it whistle a bit.
