Hello welcome to my build thread, so I decided after being on the forum 7 years and owning 100 hondas 12 being ek9s I decided to build my dream ek9. After owning a k20 dc2 I realised that I wasent keen on the dc2 chassis. So I ended up breaking the dc2. So I set out for a ek9 wasent really after a showroom condition one as that takes the fun out of building one. So I ended up with a b16b strokered one. Must say I've had all the b series engines and the b16b stroker is by far the funest. I currently own 3 ek9s a fd2 and a dc5 so as you can tell I'm a huge Honda fan. One of my dream hondas was a ek9 with a kswap so I thought why not build my own, that way I know what's what and it's done to perfection. So I started stripping the down the engine bay to nothing. Needless to say the bay was a right mess. Rust starting steering rack was shot power steering leaking car handled like a 1.0l corsa The previous owner didn't take car of it the 5 years of his owner ship. Don't worry she's in good hands now.

Then I decided I degrease and prepared the bay for paint of course I done it myself pointless paying someone when I'd rather learn myself. Didn't turn out to bad for my first attempt

Mean while my fresh import ek9 arrived to I pulled the bumper of to compare the difference between 2008 import to 2016 and well the difference is day and night. I rubbed back all surface rust and treated before painting don't it coming back. So I presumed and painted the bay. Must say I'm over the moon with how it's come out.

Nice work man, was their much work/prep to get the engine bay like that? Currently doing the same at the min after the wire tuck.

Then the fun began, fitting the kswap. Managed to get a full poly bushed dc2 rack so has saved me doing it Whilst I waited for the ekk2 hasport swap mounts to arrive from America I decided to check what lays under the side shirts and underneath. Apart from the seals showing minor rust which I have managed to grind out thank god the rest of the car was solid so for safe measure I undersealed the under side rust treated and stone chipped the seals then a coat of underseal just for safe measures. As the ball joints we looking tried and the wheel bearing had no record of being replaced I decided to do them for safe measures

TBH I spent easy 10 hours preparing the bay. It all depends on how anal you are with the prep work. It's more time effort and don't rush it. Heat the bay up before you paint it. If you get stuck man let me know and I'll give you advice if I can.

Mounts have arrived so time to start making it look like a car not a breaker I also managed to get my hands on a Cusco arb, genuine js wings vented wings, Tein coilovers with pillow ball top mounts. I decided to upgrade to front brakes. Instead of wasting money on spoon calipers I decided to put the money else were and get some reconditioned ledgend 3.5 v6 twin pot calipers and red stuff pads. I also got the bumper done whilst wings were getting painted, got my mate to paint the wings as I had other things to crack on with as paintful as it was paying him to do it.
