Just wondering if anyone knows who can make me a chip for my OBD1 P30, or if anyone on here can?

I appreciate that the ideal is getting the car custom mapped but it does run very well - albeit a bit rich - plugs and tail pipe sooty

I have a B18C6 UK basemap chip in the P30 ecu currently and wanted to try a JDM type R map as I thought this may be closer to the spec of my car with it having a full 2.5 inch system

The car has a B18C Type R engine running OBD1 P30 socketed ECU (car previously had a OBD1 B16A2 hence the setup)

Has PLM big tube 4-2-1 manifold, 200cpsi sports cat 2.5inch system all the way through and straight through silencer. Induction kit is a whale C*ck set up.

Would I benefit at all from trying the B18C JDM map/chip and is there anyone who can help? As I got the Chip in the ECU from Htune but they don't have the JDM version apparently, only the US/UK versions.

Seen lots of spoon, mugen etc, rip off chips on ebay. I assume these are just carbon copies but not worth the risk.

Hello! Not sure who can make you a chip, but I may have some useful info on the JDM map/chip.

It's worth noting that there are two different types of JDM B18CR (96 and 98 spec), and therefore two different maps. So it might be worth finding out which spec engine you have so you can match up the correct map. Also the JDM ecu's only use one O2 sensor before the Cat, whereas the UK ecu's use two sensors, one before and one after the Cat... so you may be able to remove the second sensor. The JDM maps also have factory speed limiters of 112mph (180kph) so bear that in mind if you're doing any track days.

The JDM B18c's make around 10hp more than the UK equivalent, so I would say it is worth upgrading the ECU, but with the mods you have it may be more beneficial to purchase an s300 or similar and get a bespoke map :)
