Hello,

Any of you guys are running on 17" wheels with OEM fender / wheel arch?

Need some of input in finding the right rim width & offset to be fitted with 225/45/17 tyres without having clearence issue. Photos on the setup is much appreciated.

Thanks!! :drive:

Give me a week or so. Just ordered my new tyres for my new setup... but highly doubt it will fit without some work..

Will be running:
245/45/17 up front on a 17x8 et 30 buddy club p1

225/45/16 rears on a 16x7 et 30 buddy club p1.

After ordering the tyres I realised 40 profile on the front would probably fit better but couldnt be bothered to change it lol. Im sure it will work with a bit of tinkering.

How did you find that setup?

Couldnt fit 245s in the end without huge spacers lol. So running 225 45 17s up front and it still has issues rubbing on the arch. Had to run arch extensions in the end...

Oh awesome, does look quite good. How does it handle now compared?

Hard to say tbh, the whole setup was completely different to before. Pretty much learning the whole car again from a N/A K24 to a 430hp boosted k24 lol!

Plus I ran slicks as well which is a whole different ball game.

Main reason I'm running 17s is I'm looking to run 300/320mm brakes in the future. So 16s wont cut it...

Ah fair enough, was looking at maybe running 16x8's but then 17's seem to get good reviews in America ove 16's
On 15's atm, really need to finish the car and get testing though

How sump clearance on 17's?

17's will kill the gearing when N/A.. and if you cant fit bigger than a 225 in easily I dont see the point (except for brakes of course.) as you can get 16's in 225 easy enough..

I've ran 225 45 16 and 225 45 15 and prefer it on 15's... just feels better.

What Ernie said is a good point. In an NA car the smaller the diametre the better the acceleration which i what you want ideally.

Again if you arent running anything bigger than 225 or bigger brakes then there isnt really much point to it.. fitting wide tyres and 17s isnt easy without changing the look of the car or some good body work... i ideally would like to run the Js racing wings but real prefacelift cost a bomb and they dont make reps in them...

Just bought the yellow speed 300mm brake kit and that fits under the jdm stock 16" wheels will need a 10mm wheel spacer.

Planning to run ep3 BBK that houses 330mm brakes. Theres a great setup on CTRO atm using clio RS brembo brakes. Very good value.

I was going to do this bought the calipers really good value under £300 for red ones!! but I wanted to keep the 16" wheel and the time I would have spent messing around machining brackets and buying discs etc the yellow speed kit worked out about the same money. I sold the calipers to my mate and he is fitting them to his cilo 182 turbo.

K24 in an EK would probably prefer longer gearing to get the power down.
