B18 in a ek9

I don't have a clue what I want to do with the ek9 would love the idea of a k20 but been told it would cost loads to do. Anyone know how much it would cost if I got all the parts and don't it myself?

just change inlet manifold to skunk2 ultra street on a b18c4 a good 2.5' exhaust manifold/catback. and a retune with hondata. and ur good for 210 hp+. way cheaper then b18c/6 and easier to find in good condition :)

C4 with a type r head may be a cheaper option...

A C4 with bolt ons does not make 210+bhp lol

I have a fully built b18c here with all paperworks, covered 26k miles, no smoke or burning of oil or water, the engine is absolutely mint and pulls so strong thru all gears, slight tappety when cold so they could do with adjusting, when warmed up its perfect

Kept this conversion as a spare for my self but if money is right it could be for sale as I am thinking of going different route with my car so it's no good to me anymore

Also am sure it has new fidanza flywheel an exedy clutch fitted when I got the car to break

Pm me if you interested

this is a stock b18c4 with mugen air intake, highend 4-2-2-1 header 2.5" catback, skunk2 ultra street intake manifold and 68mm tb
so yes they do make 210+ hp not whp offcourse.
both dyno graphs are same spec beside header low reading is a original toda v1 the other is with the highend header, big improvement in middle area :)

Whose rollers was that on? I just don't want to get the op's hopes up, most type r's don't make that power let alone a lower compression c4 with milder cams...

if ur not from denmark u dont know. but its located in Tune Denmark.
i dont know the type of rollers but i kmow its very precise compared to Hondas bhp. a standard civic vti b16a2 lies between 160-165 on these rollers. a stock b18c6 lies around 185-190 bhp :)
i forgot to mention i have b16b cams/valvetrain in my c4 also :)
the problem with c4 is intake manifold, the butterfly system just dont work above 200 bhp. so change it as fast as possible to a skunk2 ultra street or pro or equal an u have a at least 200bhp b18 engine if ita healthy :)

Happy dynos everywhere!
1 whole compression point probably isn't THAT big a deal but still 210 is good power from a c4 with an R head ontop IMO

always hard to compare dynos. but this isnt a high reading one. its close to Hondas stock measuments.

Not bad for the C4, the Type R camshafts are notorious too.

The fact it reads close to Hondas measurements is probably a clue it's alittle optimistic lol
Either way a figure on paper means very little...

Ahh good old dyno figures

I'm not going to have an input on these discussions anymore it's been covered enough. Now I just sit back like :alone:

Whose in the lead is a much better comparison IMO lol

Jesse888 so what u say is Hondas bhp is measured high from factory? I agree on u cant compare bhp from dyno to dyno, u can measure many different ways on a dyno and play around with the result if u want.
I dont know what type dyno u normally use in England/Ireland and maybe my result of 212bhp would be lower on one off those.
As u see on the dyno graph its a Din70210 correction which many manufactures use.
The same day i went on the dyno we measured 2 Civic VTi b16a2 both made around 180bhp (Spec was Toda v1 header/Tegiwa Header on the other and complete 2.5" catback and breather mods) we measured an Integra dc2 with BC jdm header and BC 2.5" catback, Mugen air intake and Skunk2 Street intake manifold and Hondata s300v2, the dc2 made 218bhp, and finally a fn2 Civic type R with header and Complete Catback and Hondata Flashpro, it had 227 bhp, all this was same day. So as u see mine is pretty close to a b18c6 with similar mods. Doesnt really matter what dyno it is curves will look the same +/- 10 bhp

In the case of the b16b...yes I'd be surprised if they actually made 182hp.
Dyno I use your average b16b will pull 170hp.
Less about dynos anyway, it's just a tuning tool end of the day and so many variables that renders any discussion about them pointless.
I've not seen many c4 with type r heads over here but then I'm not really looking for them to know what they are capable of.

havent dynoed a b16b it was 2 b16a2´s :) And yes ur right its just a tuning tool :) just wanted to tell my story about my b18c4 and the possiblity u have by changing the intake manifold a seing almost same numbers as a b18c/5/6 or whatever they are called around the world :) its a way cheaper engine to start with and much easier to find in good condition
Regards Carsten

In my country its cheaper to get a b18c1 or b18c crankshaft, b18c pistons and stroke it :naughty:
