Right, figure I better give this some sort of update haha. Apologies in advance for the mix of phone pictures and selfies....
So going back a couple of weeks,
@Steve M and my mates Greg and Glenn came to visit me on Coventry. Friday night we went out (less said about that, the better...),
Saturday was spent cleaning the cars for Japfest 2 and trying to sort out a radiator for Steve's coupe due to a stone sticking a hole through it when he was on his way to mines on the Friday.
Sunday was Japfest, and as seen by my previous post, it was SICK. Was on the EK9.org stand it was great, the guys were awesome. Big thanks to
@nicole_ for organising that. Thanks again to
@Saqib for the following picture.
And thanks to
@jjenningsjj for this one.
Went on track and the car was faultless! Stripped the interior out again prior to this and stiffened up my suspension a bit. The tyres went off about halfway through the session but that was because I forgot to lower the pressures from road pressures. A cool down lap later and the car was spot on again. Was my first time taking the civic on track, great fun. Greg went out with me to see if he could help with my lines etc as he used to race Formula Fords.
@robthedoc got these awesome pictures of me on track, thats
@DBMatt infront of me in the first pic!

As it worked out, I had to take the civic to work the next day (normally car share and take my friends 108 as my cars too "impractical"
). Queue a selfie...
Fast forward a week and I went to Mimms with the his. guys and gals. Top bunch, as was everyone else there. Really nice to finally meet a lot of people from the Honda scene that I've been talking to for years via the forums and Facebook. Can deffo see the appeal of Mimms!

Heard over the speakers that track time was available...went to enquire, the guy who did my briefing at Japfest was there and after recognising me and having a chat about the last time I was on, he sorted me out with some track time for free... top lad!!
About to go on:
Dropped the tyre pressures this time, knew the track a bit better and was really enjoying myself! As you can see in the video below, I got a bit annoyed at the DC2 and MB6 as I was trying to pass them, I was so much quicker on the corners but they just outdragged me in the straights haha. Joys of the D14! Got past them eventually though
You'll also see my slight "incident" at the end...
Basically, was too busy looking at the car behind me at the double left hander and turned in too late... Car met cone, cone went under the car and out the back, taking the lip with it haha. Luckily this was the only damage, all fine though
So yeah, an eventful few weeks! Had an awesome time seeing my mates from home and meeting loads of new people
