One day, I will eventually start building a K swap for my EK as I've pretty much got as much out of the b18 without going into internals bigger cams etc and the money spent on stuff like that could go towards a K swap.

This discussion is as the title states, k24 N/A vs k20 charged.

I want to know pros and cons of both, which is cheaper , which is the best bang for buck, reliability, daily driveability. I'd like real experience comments not my mate pat has one and blah blah LOL

I did want to go k24 but seems a lot harder than it sounds and S/C seems better , N/A delivery so no lag or not as much as turbo which I don't want to do.

Let's here what you guys have to say ...

All motor is my favorite ( yes i do have a 300whp EG ) but depending on your horsepower goal it tend to get expensive and harder to get power...
i dont have any experience with supercharger but i do have experience with turbo and they are a blast and would be my second choice if i had to pick one..you can make tons of power with the right set up and if you are not aiming for some crazy horsepower they are very reliable. .

I'm definitely not aiming for numbers, more for fun and driveability

300whp ? I bet that's fun

Check his youtube channel, has a fair few videos.

I dont want to spill too much info about his car without his consent, but I know he has a build thread on the K20a forum. His last post he mentions moving to K24 ironically due to oil pressure issues. Worth checking the build thread out if you have chance.

Fantastic car, so much custom fabrication and precise engineering gone into it. The engine bay is so tight its unreal.

Out of the two id probably go for the k20 super charged. Ive got the k24 atm but looking to turbo. As a standard engine its great, had no problems, very reliable (drive it daily) and bloody quick... but im sure a supercharged k20 will be much quicker and more enjoyable.

The issue of a k24 is definately the lower RPM limit. If you do go for a k24, get the oil pump swapped out for a k20 one or better to run 8000rpm or more (depending on how brave you are).

Or go k24 and boosted and enjoy torque!

Seems to much hassle to k24 after some research
plus have to get a new h/g , head bolts skim etc will probably add up to the cost of the A/V kit for probably around the same power if not less

S/c it is, looking at the kraftwerks kit , good for serious power and brilliant reliability , first came across it on Marty's over in the states, the Orange EK

Speak to Tegiwa (if you haven't already) as they are the UK Kraftwerks dealer :)

Think I'll piece it together one by one rather than buying a whole kit, save myself some money papas I can't pay it all in one lump sum, will be a slow build for sure lol

And after looking at the prices H tunes was cheaper , but yeah I'll be piecing it together a part at a time over the year.

Thanks for your input though

Tegiwa does finance haha. The finance option has got me on their site a few times pricing up things and seeing at what i can afford on a monthly basis lol.

I don't do finance , in my own opinion, it's just as bad or maybe worse than those kids financing cars to show off LOL

Rather buy it out right even if it takes me a little longer .

I did my k24 on the cheap. I already had a complete k20 with bolt ons though. I put a new head gasket, timing chain and valve stem oil seals on it and re used all the other bits apart from a water pump that was second hand but never used
