Hi All,

I have bought a spoon street backbox from japan and waiting for it to be delivered. Now I am looking to see how much louder this is than stock as I am getting some mixed reviews.

Is there much difference compared to oem?

How does it compare to fujitsubo legalis R or should I have gone with the Mugen twin loop instead?

All help appreciated as I want a really quiet exhaust, I will be fitting a 4-2-1 manifold too and would like to avoid the dreaded droning when cruising.

Thanks

On my EK4, it is quiet if you dont step on the gas hard. So normal driving it is comparable with stock muffler.

Thanks for the reply, how does it compare to the mugen twin loop? Do you have an aftermarket mani or decat too?

Thanks

I had Mugen EK9 full setup previously, it is louder than Spoon in normal use. I have Mugen 4-2-1 header + decat on my EK4. Engine is B16A with ITR cam and intake manifold.

Spoon street is very quite system, jus about hear it over the standard oem system

Legalis R is the best sounding exhaust out there, mugen twinloop is good aswel

I have full spoon street system for sale if anyone is interested

Thanks for all your reply guys.

To be honest im not sure what exhaust system is on my car at the minute came in with one from japan but tad loud for my liking so i wanted a quiet one and love the oem look of spoon street.

Great to hear ots quiet exactly what im after.

@ek4 hatchback is yours women friendly haha and does it drone or you hapoy with it over the twinloop? Why did swap too?

@B18C'R EK how much selling out curiousity?

I've heard the exhaust baffles on the spoon street boxes can fail very quickly.
Like 6months old fail.
a friend had one on his dc2, baffles failed on that.
If you want oem quiet then oem is probably best bet?

Same here. Mine fell apart within a year. Went with a twinloop instead so much better quality. Then went to an oem ek9 backbox which i actually preferred. Must be getting old!

My wife do not like riding on my EK4 due to suspension too stiff. Noise isn't an issue. Well I had my Mugen twinloop for many years so I was fancy a change to Spoon N1 but found that N1 was way too loud even with silencer. Actually my car was impounded due to the loud Spoon N1 so changed to Spoon sport muffler.

Thanks for all the help guys, I am glad that I bought it now and cant wait to hear it on.
Hoping the manifold wont make it too loud now.

Does anyone run a baffled decat or am I best keeping the standard cat in?
