I take it there's no club stand at this one but is anyone on here planning to go?

In two minds whether to run on the strip or not... temped to leave it and just go on a RWYB day rather than at a show where realistically you only get 2 or 3 runs because of how busy it gets... thoughts anyone?

Better off to go to break what you've brung day buddy.
Last time I was at pod I did 15runs, the last one put a fist sized hole in the gearbox along with tearing out 2 engine mounts.
Like I said break what you've brung lol

My buddy was in his ek9(now my ek9) did 25+ faultless runs and also took me home afterwards.

Haha, I hear that! never got round to doing it in my Yaris because I was weary of the CV joints being a bit tired. I'd like to think the 9 would hold up under the strain but like you say better to break it without the huge crowd!

out of interested were you running the turbo set up when you went?

I was in an Astra when I went. 360ftlbs 330hp.
13.5 was the best I could manage, pretty slow considering the power.

Think buddy in ek9 ran consistant low 15s.
That's standard full interior the lot.

anything in the 13s is still really good going man! All comes down the the launch at the end of the day, from what I've heard / seen the surface has got a lot more grip that standard tarmac so it takes a bit of getting used to getting it off the line?

I'd be happy if I could run mid 15s but I guess theres only one way to find out!

If we could get people interested maybe we could get a few ek9's together on a RWYB day and have a bit of a shootout?

That would be cool, just I'm not keen on launching the car.
My clutch is only rated for NA use and im pumping 230ftlbs through it lol
That and the whole shock on the drivetrain is just asking for trouble I don't need ATM.

I know what you mean dude, that was my biggest worry with the Yaris and that only had 110ft/lbs on a good day haha

are you still running standard drive shafts?

Yeah stock shafts still, plate LSD is killer on the cvs aswell...
Tbh I'd do alright to come away with the engine still running let alone the drivetrain still working!

arhh she'd be fine! I've read bits and pieces on the troubles you've had... after all that bad luck and misfortune I'm sure you've gotta be on for some smooth running lol

Haha yeah.
Engine build number 3 coming up soon.
Rotating assembly balanced this time, new head and sump aswell.
Wish me luck lol

Im going to this but will be on Exiled Media stand.

It takes ages to get runs in on the show day, waiting for hours its not really worth it.
But theres a RWYB day on the saturday with camping over night so il be getting my runs in on the saturday when its less busy, and enjoying the show on the sunday
