So... Let me see if I can put this into words, because my mother tongue is not English.

ISSUE #1

I turn on the car, he starts perfectly well, no "hiccups" and no problems, it purrs properly UNTIL I touch the gas pedal.... Doesn't matter if I make it rev a little or if I just slightly touch it, after that the car will look like a tractor for a few seconds, or (in some cases) the engine will stop.
If I roll a little bit with the car, at a certain point he stops doing this. At a certain point it "holds" the rpm's at idle properly (around 750) and stops drowning when I lift the foot from the gas pedal.

ISSUE #2

Apparently, and due to some God forsaken reason... My car is not dealing well with CO2 emissions neither properly "processing" fuel consumption as it keeps doing emissions like the LAMBDA was off.
Funny thing is:
1 - The ECU is a PCT-J11 (I have a facelift RX)
2 - There are no errors shown in the dashboard when I do the short-wire on the two pin connector under the glove-box

I've changed the catalyst already, but no dice. A mechanic has actually tried with other LAMBDA but... again... nothing. I have another ECU (OBD1 with a funny configuration) and even with that one the emissions are quite similar.

Anyone has any suggestion on what I should verify / do next?
Is it normal that we feel an intense gasoline smell coming from the tail pipe?

Thank you all for any suggestions.

Have you checked your throttle position sensor? Or your map sensor? Either of those two sensors could be linked to both your problems!

Actually... No! But that's a good pointer. Do you know some reference document or something I can follow to verify if it's properly set?

Thanks!

Well.... Guess what? :)

There were two issues that were creating the symptoms...

1 - The spark plugs were not the recommended ones to this vehicle;
2 - The distributor was not in good shape as well, making the car drop rotation when pressed the gas pedal and released.

The two issues solved... The car is now running like a champ! :)

For Eoghain,

We've also checked the TPS as we've suspected it was not working properly and even cleaned up the IACV but the car was still injecting too much gasoline into the exhaust... When we looked into the spark plugs we've noticed the error.......... They were NOT at all recommended for the EK9 (B16B) and therefore... Not doing their job.

Thanks again for your inputs!

Hope the info is helpful for someone.

Cheers
