I've got a spare B series cam cover as my red one is chipping.

There is a bloody massive baffle in it which is not easily removed, what's the best way to clean out any crap that might be lurking within? Doesn't look to have been bead blasted or anything.

Basically I want to clean it up, paint and swap with the tired looking red oem I have.

Perhaps submerging in the bath 20x lol.

Is this just the standard baffle?

Whenever I'm cleaning them i power wash it a few times through each opening (the baffle openings and the breather pipe), i feel this gives the water the best chance of clearing anything out, and then give it a good rinse with water for 5-10 mins.

Always worked with me.

Whack it in the dishwasher
Or jetwash it multiple times after spraying a cleaning agent such as g101 into any crevices where stuff might be lurking.

This is what I did to mine last week when I refurbished it. Just make sure the cover is dry afterwards, I used a heat gun to help with the drying.

As above. I used degreaser with warm water to start with, Give it a good going over with the brush. Jet wash as mentioned. Then some fairy liquid and hot water, Shake the crap out of it lol. Dry it then pour some oil inside the baffles and then rinse it just incase there is some trapped water in their. Go ocd with it worth it :)) airline to blow it.. if you have compressor
