Rob's EK9 Progress

This is really cool man, nice height too, not stupidly low. Wheels are mega too!

Thanks again for the heads up about the charger :)

I'm still partially sad that this is no longer king OEM 9 haha! Still ultimate though! It was just a matter of time

More awesome parts going on this. Love it. Spacers on the standard wheels make such a difference.

Also, did you get the rim protectors with the new wheels? Assuming that's what they are. Can be seen lying on top of the wheel here....

Thanks man. No worries, do need to add that at some point really.

Haha! Thanks Ally. Yes only a matter of time but externally I think that's as far as it will go. ;)

Thanks. Yeah sits lovely with the spacers on. The protector came with the new wheels, yes but its only a band of plastic just used for shipping by the looks of it. To stop any big knocks etc.

Could do with them for fitting my tyres once my wheels get painted haha

Well I have been super slack with the updates! All of the following update is from the first 2 weeks of May.

Even though the MF10's where fresh I still gave them a good clean ready for some sealant.

Then sealed them with some Carboncollective Platinum Wheels. Should last a good couple of years.

Next was the rubber. Some AD08's. Had to be done.

So slung them on the same day.

Fit perfect and the AD08's are super grippy!

Next job was the cam cover for the 3rd time! Paint had started to come away at the edges after the cambelt was changed.

So slapped on the nitromors.

Fizz fizz

Sent it off for powdercoating this time, instead of me painting in the shed. Wanted a wrinkle finish but they only had black...

Figured I'd see what it was like in the bay before changing the colour.

Was a bit too much black for me. So got some red to cover the wrinkle.

I had noticed a slight misfire so decided to have a look while I was poking about in the bay. Took the dizzy cap off to find this...

Looks like the rotor arm screw had come out and had been battering about inside the cap. I was amazed it didn't run any worse!

It was the weekend and all the shops where shut so I thought I would try to save the old part. Cleaned it up and bent the contacts back.

Seems to be fine for the time being but will replace it soon.

Japfest was fast approaching and I still hadn't had the Mugen centre caps anodised. Finished cleaning these up and got them in the post.

Whent and collected them as I worried I wouldn't have them back in time for the weekend.

Again gave them a quick seal before putting on.

So moved onto giving the nine a good scrub over the two days before Japfest. 1st day was very wet... So interior cleaning was on.

Next day was much better so I could get on with a quick clay and a light buzz over with the DA.

Sealed the paint with some Gtechniq C2V3 and topped with some Zaino

That's pretty much where I am at the moment. Ill leave you with a final snap from Japfest. Cheers

Between your's and Andy's, the cleanest of the clean! AD08's are just perfect for the civic

Thanks guys!

Great mods!
Why to put Zaino over gtechniq?

Its just another layer of protection. The Zaino is almost like a sacrificial layer as it won't last as long as the Gtechniq but also adds gloss.

cars come along way robbie looks really good on the mugens! track time with that rubber next! ;)
