robthedoc's ek9 turbo, adventures in boost!

While i was at it i used the original pipes to make a loop pipe for where the power steering flare nuts screw into the rack. Used a 1/4 inch pipe bender and flaring tool

Then tonight I got most of the sub frame back together and got it back on the car

Car should be back on it's wheels tonight now that the replacement for the bent wishbone has been powder coated... Parcel from realstreetperformance arrived today so engine can now head to the machine shop. Happy days. Some actual progress!

Looking good man. Powder coated parts look great. Best of luck with the build. :nice:

Thanks mate.

It's been kicked out the garage after 3 weeks on the ramp so some actual paying work can be done! Engine is at the machine shop now with Pistons to be overbored. Hopefully have it back next week... Problem being im away to Aberdeen for a stag do the following weekend then the one after that we are going to Holland for hondafest.

The end date seems to get further away every day

unreal.. Good job man, really jealous of all the clean bits! I'll need to get this done one day haha

Cheers bud. It's turned into a full on restoration rather than a quick turbo build like it was meant to be... but it will be worth it!

Def need to get everybody the gether for a massive summer meet. Can have it out a civic disobedience hq haha

Coming along nicely the bits turned out well. Love watching this build keep up the good work

Powder coating looks good, did you gut the rack or just loop it?

Nice to see the state of the car Rob, wondered how long it would be until turbo plans turned up! ;)

Guessing not much progress was made yesterday? :p I know it was a quiet day for me ahaha
