From Nagoya waiting it to arrive

OK, SO, at the end of this week my 9 shall arrive in Devon. Then need to wait for DVLA to send the registration Plates! Already have insurance, i made a deal with AVIVA, 1488 a year as other good companies don't deal with me as i have no UK driving experience! Only in Portugal. After one year they accept do me a quote.

I am thinking of using always 5/W 40 Fully Synthetic Oil, Super 98 unleaded and shell v-power 99 when possible (it will be almost always as there is a petrol station just close to me :nice:)

Camber arms in OEM suspension... great value or waste?

Cheers

Camber arms are only worth while with aftermarket suspension in my opinion, the standard geometry set up works very very well with the oem shocks and springs.
Enjoy it as standard for a while.

I would use a 10w 40 fully synthetic rather than a 5w 40

Stick to 10w-40 such as shell helix. As said if your keeping suspension stock then keep stock camber arms. Just enjoy it stock and spend the money on maintenance /servicing.

I saw today the car in front of me! OEM suspension is incredibly low and stiff and condortable at the same time. Very happy, not changing anything. Car is MINT and has been fully serviced. I have the proof of it in the maintenance manuals which were provided :)

OK MATES. Here is fresh. Went todayfrom London to Devon. Incredible team i found, that gave me a lift to the train station after the visit. A long walk until their headquarters in the middle of the country side. Very complete service. Happy customer in first priority for sure ;-)

Why 10 and not 5?

Pictures doesnt do justice mate and i realized when i saw my 9 in front of me. OEM suspension is great and has good camber already :)

Seriouly thinking about 2.5 Tegiwa Mainfold (TODA is far more expensive) to attatch to that mugen Twin loop line. Does it fit (not sure in twin loop is 2.36.or 2.5:naughtyx:

In our climate there is no need to use a 5w oil.

From the manual

From personal experience a 5w oil suffers more drain back than 10w 40

My one came with the manuals and servicing history ;-) My next oil change will be in 7k Km

Now it makes sense, more thin, more "leaking". Which maker? Millers? Motul?

In Mugen website they sell it 5w-40 1L maybe because using that you will need to keep filling up like a drunk engine sweating oil

Cheers

Hi mate, Exactly as b16 mini said. On these older b series engines 10w 30 or 40 grade is what they prefer. Run quieter and smoother. Even Honda recommend 10w 30 in Japan and their climate range is not world's apart from ours in some parts. 40 grade is better accessible here and cheaper. Whereas the newer k series like to run on 5w 40.
Your best of giving it a full service when it's in your ownership for piece of mind. A good semi 10w 40 can be had less than £20 for 5 ltrs.

Great to know your experience and no doubts now.

The oil i will be running now should be Autobacs according to the sticker in the side of the passenger door.

My car still in Devon as i am waiting for the DVLA letter with the chasis reference linked to my name. In 2-3 weeks i will pick up.

Cheers

what grade was the car it seems to be in good condition. I ask because I'm looking with an importer now for one.

Any updates? What oil did you go with. I will be sticking to a 5w30

Did you get the plates after? What grade is the car 4?
I am running Millers 5w40 fully synthetic. No oil burning. i can do 7.2l/100km with my 9.. not bad
I have done already 2k KM around south England and to France (Paris).
My cell phone pics are more than 3mb size so i need to resize them before upload here. Many pics soon!

Grade 3.5! Found some little dents first time i washed the car. In early future i will do a alloy refurb as well but at distance looks grade 4 :)
