Item for sale: Brian Crower stage 2 race cams

Price: £40 + delivery.

Location: Glasgow, Motherwell.

Condition: 6/10

Description: were in my b18c when I bought it but when being built at Henry's vtec lobes were found to few degrees out from each other because the lift/ duration is so brutal, never been low on oil either. Primary & secondary lobes are in perfect nick, there as they should be ! These could repaired with the likes of kelford or piper, as there is plenty of lift and duration to play with to machine to a stage 1 cam.

im after two cam cover washers that fit under the dome headed fastners. pm me

Not a clue, no oil starvation or nothing. Followers probably cause the wear to them, they weren't in the best condition. Plus combined with the fact of how brutal a stage 2 cam these are didnt help. Yea I'll send some over tonight.

Would the cams not be designed like that?
Woukd one valve opening slightly earlier cause some kind of ram effect or something in the cylinder? I just can't see how a cam lobe can be out by afew degrees with no visible damage?

Could someone explain to me how can the lobe move on the cam???? Was the B18 running ok with these in?

Only way I can think off is if there is a twist in the camshaft along its length.
But imagine the torque it would take to do that to a camshaft?

That's what I thought but if it is just the VTEC lobes (if I understand it correctly) that really isn't possible?

Yeah they'd all be out from where ever it had twisted from. Not sure that's even possible tbh.

Just goin off from what henry told me guys but I'll check these out now. I was surprise cause the idle was smooth even for itbs and nothing to suggest as much was wrong with them through out the revs.

Why did the engine go in for work? High conp build or?

I'm tempted to buy the cams and just build my old block back up and slam them in and see what happens

Yeah high comp b18 :) I'm going to get these inspected, you guys have made me curious if they need machined or are ok.
