Thanks, I wasn't sure on the purple at first, but quite like it...works well with the other small purple bits on the car, but will probably get them powder coated next time round, I can't see the paint lasting long in British weather, and the Mrs driving it!
 
Seats in! Couldn't wait till I got the carpet, wanted to test fit them, turns out EK9 seats arnt a direct fitment for the EJ9!

I had to use the subframe of the EJ9 seat, remove all the foam and fabric on both and switch them over, a 5 minute job turned into a couple of hours!

Quite happy with the results though!

Took the car into work today, first time I've driven it properly since the work, and I love driving this compared to my little fiesta...so much more fun, just needs the power to back up the looks....plus it's the first time they guys at work have seen it since I started and they were very impressed :) a quick picture too...I can't help it!

Excellent transformation.....well done!

2 things i dont like though......why slap on Typre R stickers when the car is not a Type R and why waste money on the crappiest tyres on the market....Toyo T1R's?!

Other than that a huge thumbs up! :nice::nice::nice:
 
I like the look the type R stickers give it, they will be coming off soon when it has a full respray, as I'm not happy with the shell, but will be going on after the bswap :)

Also, I've had T1r's on many of my cars, and for the money I rate them very highly, my personal favourite for everyday use is Michelin pilot sports...but didn't want to spend 2-3 times as much per corner :)
 
I don't get all the T1r hate tbh. I had them on my last ek9(came on it) and it drove fine with them on. I think they are decent for how little you pay for them.
Wonder what people would think when I tell them I've got toyo proxes 4 on my turbo build, they are like 5 years old aswell lol
Agreed on the R stickers but each to their own.

I thought my TR1s were rubbish until I changed my coilovers and made some handling changes and then a realised it wasn't the tyres. Haha For the price I think they are good!
 
Just a little update, had a spare afternoon, so I took the EK4 door cards I had and wrapped them in a red alacantra fabric, I know it's not the correct fabric, as finding it is almost impossible, however I'm very happy with the end result...what do you think?

I forgot about the recess completely until the other day! So will try and source one! In the meantime it would appear my hard work has been ruined, a lady pulled out of an allyway into the side of the civic whilst my girlfriend was driving! It could be a write off!

Make best of bad situation mate. Either break it and add some funds to buy an ek9 or as you say, ek9 shell. They aren't the easiest to find in decent condition though.
 
Could possibly be fixed that anyway. Looks like a door, wing and then abit of pulling on the quarter?
