check this link out lads, 20 quid. v cheap wonder are they any good??

JAP STYLE B-SERIES SUMP BAFFLE OIL PAN KIT HONDA INTEGRA DC2 B18 | eBay

Should be as good as any, it's just a piece of cut mild steel at the end of the day... I bought the Tegiwa ones, cost roughly the same, they are actually quite flimsy and bend easily, but remember, they are not really exposed to much stress, they just need to prevent the oil from moving around too much, that's all. TBH, it wouldn't surprise me if all the baffles on the UK/Irish market (so far I know of Ankana racing, Tegiwa and the one in your link) came out of the same factory...

2nd that often it can be just the name you pay for.

H-Tune have the weld in kits in their sale for about £18-19 IIRC.

Bringing this back from the dead, But with the Moroso sump, Can you run it just as the OEM sump, sounds silly but I see there is a temp sensor location and an oil feed location, Does it come with bungs to blank these off?

I'm talking about the basic version by the way.

They come with bungs mate, I have the Moroso expanded & baffled piece, just have to remove the bung and fit the required size adapters to run the oil drain / temp sensor :)

That's great man, Thanks for the info. :nice: I'd be tempted to run a temp sensor in anyway. Even though they seem like a scare tactic lol.

Have also been looking at the weld in kit as it's money saved which could be spent else where, possibly.

I have one question, once they are welded in, do you leave the baffle plates and welds bare/raw?

Cheers

I think I burnt about 600ml that's all day with b18. I don't know one b18 that doesn't use oil on track.
On the road however my engine doesn't use a drop.
Mine built b18 didn't use a drop on track :) obviously because it had 1500 miles on it when I broke it, would come off the trailer at the full mark and when it was checked throughout the day of a lot of abuse it would still be at the top the joys of a fresh built engine

Left them raw on mine, the copious oil covering should prevent any rust!

purely DC2 related but on Nez's hillclimb car he used the moroso sump, still lunched an engine from oil starvation, now running an OEM sump and weld in battles with no issues!

Leave them bare. But be sure to remove any spatter and clean the sump like your life depends on it

This paranoia about weld debris etc... is making me drive towards a new Spoon sump, come w/gasket & Hamp filter.

Moroso leak quite regularly according to the internet. Because I only ever have limited time to work on the car, I would prefer to have something ready, new to bolt on and forget about.

The baffles in the spoon sumps look pretty basic to me. Just two bits of thin plate tacked in with no vertical bits.

I'm not sure the moroso have verticle bits either.

Mugen sump has the verticle bits though.

Most of the baffle kits are a copy of the mugen style.
I've just made my own before

I'd just use weld in plates (again) but roll the edges down to improve the way the oil rolls off the plate into the sump and trap it under the plate better.

Are b16a and b18c sumps identical?

B16b and b18 sumps are the same, b16a sumps are not quite so deep and won't clear the mains cap/girdle on b16b/b18

As above just get yourself a set of baffles.
All I did was rinse the sump out afterwards with the hose then ran a magnet around the sump to catch the rest of it.
