i had a look on the forum quite abit and cant seem to figure out what this is :S

I bought this not so long ago and not too sure what to do lol

I have a Ek4 VTI Uk spec with B16A2 engine and am looking to upgrade my exhaust header, atm i have a Japseed 4-1 header (badly dented!) , Skunk2 decat "test pipe", unsure of the B pipe and a Spoon N1 back box

Firstly is this a genuine spoon 4-1 header?

And secondly what is this off? and what am i supposed to do now?
it fits the 4-1 perfect but has a 2" collector outlet? Surly i dont want this as this would be worse than my current setup of 2.25"?

Whats the best route to go down now? is there a 2-1 section i can buy that has a 2.5" collector and then get a 2.5" decat? would this mean i would have to get a 2.5" B pipe? And what about the N1?

Thanks in advance guys i know im asking quite a few questions its all very confusing, i read on here Honda never made a 2.25"? so confused haha

Sizes stated are usually the Outer Diameter of the pipes, not the inner. So 2.25" will be 57mm and that will often be a 2mm wall thickness tube, so your down to 53mm ID, barely over 2".

Does anyone know what 2-1 section this is? the lad i bought it off said he got both bits from spoon direct?

Looks like spoon and they didn't put their logo on their early stuff. Does it have a Jasma plaque on it anywhere?

No jasma on both the bottom or top section, would spoon be 2"?

Spoon only made the 4-2 section, they mated up to the std honda 2-1 bit, so that is probably just standard EK4. Edelbrock did the 'pro-flow' header which looks very similar in design, the 4-2 section looked different (spoon is nicer IMHO) but their 2-1 was tubular like that (although I think it was kinked horizontally which that isn't). could be a spoon 4-2 with custom made 2-1 to fit an EK4.

std EK4 would be tubular but mild IIRC, and possibly double walled/heats shield. I reckon that is just a custom 2-1, to fit an ek4. Try contacting spoonsportsuk and asking them?

Did you look on that link I posted? Got the same tabs welded on the flange, I may do that in fact

Would explain the 2" down to a T..

No way 2 individual rings?! I thought it would be a proper gasket :S

Can I make a suggestion??? Go to a exhaust shop and made a custom 2-1 with 2.5" collector and straight pipe from the header to the muffler....

Its a B16A specific manifold. I would just fit it as it is. You wont gain much from making a 2.5" outlet. End of the day Im pretty sure spoon knew what they were doing tuning these engines so they will have had fair reason to make it only 2". Will have wider internals than the stock manifold as they are twin walled and have an even smaller pipe inside.

2.25 and 2.5" collector sizes are referring to the donut gasket size not the pipe size. That manifold will use the same 2.25 collector joint that you already have.

Oh and spoon did make full 2 piece manifolds in the early days. Both 4-2 and 2-1.

Kushty man that's what I'll do.. Lastly the gasket? Are we sure it's the 2 piece rings or a proper gasket between?

Doesn't look like 2 rings to me. Just drop into a local motor parts store or exhaust place and see if they have a flat gasket that will match. There are tones of cars with 3 bolt twin pipe flanged manifolds.

I've messaged one seller on eBay selling the same or I think the same item and got them to send me the measurements and it wasn't quite right :S I may have to modify one that's close

What are the bolts with the springs like? everytime i start the car it rattles from underneath, starting to get on my tits now lol

Just thought i would add that i have fitted the 2 part spoon exhaust and couldnt be happier with it! sounds completely different over my Japspeed 4-1 no longer like a scooby! Seems to rev smoother aswell but i imagine thats cause the pipes had been crushed on the japspeed, the clearance is inline with the sump so shouldnt bash anymore otherwise im in trouble lol, and looks sick :) overall very very happy with this header!
