Hey guys,

I'm just trying to see if anyone would like to save a EK9, it's my old shell which - had Rambo's shell which is in better nick not come up for sale - I would have been rebuilding. He's been offering me the shell for a while and I kept resisting as I didn't want my car to get scrapped, but after a conversation with my girlfriend last night I got persuaded into doing the sensible thing and get the better shell. As it stands the car needs quite a bit of TLC but is definitely repairable. It will need a little bit of welding (two small holes in the floorpan and one bit under the front arch liner), plus the rear arches will need attention at some point too (one side is OK, other side not so much). There's a dent or a scratch in pretty much every single panel, she's definitely no show car. Engine bay and slam panel will need tidying up, there's surface rust in places. The price will depend on what you want with it:

Empty shell with glass, doors, front wings, bootlid, upper and lower control arms - £FREE
If you want it with suspension (ek9 shocks and eibach springs) , hubs, rack and subframe it will be £250
With EK9 wheels (rolling) - £400

The car sat for almost 2 years and I'd say all bushes will need replacing, that's what I was going to do anyway.
I will need it gone soon, if I see no real interest I will sadly have to scrap her as I need the space for the new car. I'm off tomorrow so I'll take pictures, if you have any questions in the meantime fire away!

PLEASE - ONLY REPLY IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO SAVE AN EK9 FROM THE SCRAPPY, I WILL NOT GIVE IT AWAY FOR FREE JUST SO YOU CAN WEIGH IT IN!!!

Missed out on Rambos shell, could be interested in this one though.
Depends how bad the rust is tbh. I've seen them pretty rusty before lol

If you end up scrapping it, I'll take a few bits off you if you'd be willing to split?

I'll take pictures tomorrow, if you live in/around Glasgow or know someone who does I'm more than happy for people to come down and check it out for themselves, I can make much more money by scrapping it and selling all the remaining bits but I'd genuinely rather see her live on. If I had the space I'd be keeping her.

So yeah. Fire me plenty of pictures, even a video if you don't mind? We are a long way from Glasgow and need to be sure that we feel the car is salvageable aswell. Probably take it with wheels and suspension on aswell.
Brother plans to k-swap an ek9 so while he's gathering funds and parts for that he can get this shell cleaned up.

Im so temted to buy this and use my ek4 to build it just to save a 9 but i need to finish the teg :(

Perfect for someone with a donor car! Thumbs up for tryna save a 9! I see this being saved, cheap!

Fine deal for someone here . If I hadnt just bought a Cossie id have this back for a track car .

So here are the pictures, I have taken pictures of the worst areas and intentionally did not clean anything, a lot of it (especially in the interior and around engine bay) is just surface rust and discoloration, if I wanted to hide anything a little T-Cut would remove a lot of it and the shell would look a lot cleaner. The slam panel is solid but there's a lot of surface rust and I was going to replace it, I think it would work out cheaper and be easier than trying to remove rust from every nook and cranny. I also grabbed a screwdriver today and poked around the sills and found another hole (or rather made another hole...) which will need welding up. The rest is pretty solid and just needs taking back to healthy metal and treating with some underseal. The problem is that whoever undersealed the car didn't do a good job, the sills have never seen underseal of any sort and it shows. Since they didn't bother removing a bit of plastic I doubt very much they bothered with fuel tank, but I haven't had time to investigate. This is my first 9 and I didn't have any experience with this sort of stuff when I bought it so it slipped under the radar. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask!

I take it that's not a giant rust hole on the passenger slam panel area?
Is alittle hard to see where it's dark. Underseal I take it?

It is a shame, I know. I wish I'd known as much about these cars as I know now when I bought her. I'll give it till the end of the month, if nobody agrees to take the car by then I'll remove everything that has some value and scrap the rest. It makes me really sad and if I had the space I'd be keeping the car without a doubt.
