Higmeisters K20 DC2

Band new RRC inlet manifold received :) just to get it ported.

Also got a Karcepts adaptor plate to bolt on to it.

Still unsure which 70mm throttle body to go with so I'm getting the RRC ported but keeping the standard EP3 throttle body for now.

Just came in, Ktuned no cut Billet Shifter.

Lovely bit of machining. Can't wait to get this installed!

Is it noticeable? I was thinking about dropping in a 5.1 final drive at some point.

Are you running the standard diff in the DC5 box?
5.1 :eek2: if it is for daily drive use you gonna hate the short final drive
I have a npr3 transmisión on my eg k swap and i hate it when im driving on the highway...

What will the top speed be roughly with 5.1? Was looking at tge 5.3 from spoon for ep3 box.

Guess you have to look at what you are using your car for AND if you are staying n/a or going boost. Higher rpm on the motorway I'm sure most can live with...

The reason why I'm not touching the box yet as I'm undecided to go with a Rotrex supercharger or just bolt on a K24 bottom end.

No point on changing any ratios or FD if I was to go charged.

Got the engine up on a stand and gave it a lick of paint. Tidied up not too bad. Just need to get the rocker cover sprayed.

Dragged it through to the workshop to do a leak down on the engine and everything is spot on :))

The timing chain had stretched a little, so chain and tensioner will be getting replaced. Will be a lot easier with the engine out to change it

Engine looks fresh now! Im also doing a kswap in my dc2
Just wanted to know what you used to paint the block?

Hammerite Aluminium. Just make sure you degrease the engine thoroughly a couple of times before painting. I've still got to do my gearbox. Just going to wait unit it's stripped and put back together before painting it.

Where are you getting the porting done on your inlet?

5.1 would be fun on the street, motorway not so much.

rubbish

5.1FD (it's actually 5.062) in the uk EP3 box brings the ratios to be identical to the FD2 civic, what I did to my old K swap and it would still pull almost 160mph in 6th - not too short at all and more than worth it for the acceleration gains

Nimbus grey rocker is very cool, would be inclined to keep the coil pack cover in the oe silver :)

Well I've been pretty quiet on here for the last few months.

The main reason as there has been a great deal of work being carried out on the chassis.
The exterior of the car is pretty clean, no rust bubbles just the stoned chipped to hell at the front. BUT the underside was a different story...

After both of the rear jacking points collapsing I knew there would be some welding worked required to the sills and the floor.

As we were at we though we would put thicker gauge plate where the roll cage mounts to the floor to aid rigidity.

Sill and floor done we dropped the B18 to proceed with the K-Swap and it got more crispy.

Took the wings and arch liners off and the inner arches were going to.

The slam panel gone too far and would have to be cut out and replaced.

After spending several hundreds of pounds on welding the sills and the floor, and now with a hell of a lot more work to be done I decided to cut my losses and scrap the shell.

A sad day and a tough pill to swallow.

I recognise that B18 :p !

Can't wait to see this finished mate!

Any idea when it will be done and ready for some track action?!

haha it went to a good home Logan.

Hopefully will have it all running for April at the latest to make it for the start if the season. But will just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed

Should be getting the b18 mapped very soon!

Hopefully it is all done by then! I just booked a place on the first MU track night, would be really good to see this on track then :)

Sure is man, looking forward to it!

I want to do all 3 as well. Going to do the one in April and get my first track day over with and then hopefully book the next two
