Right guys, here's the script. Picking up my new car in the next week or so. Its a pre facelift ek9 with a b18c from a 96 spec teg. The car itself is amazing. Only problem i have is it has one key. I have heard different things from different people regarding getting a second key cut.

It has one key and fob and no red key etc. On the fob for remote locking it says autowatch. So guessing it has an aftermarket alarm system.

Just wanting to know what my options for getting a key cut are.

Can i just get a key cut and use it to open/start car ect or will i need to get it programmed. I have been told that the honda keys of that age dont have chips in them so this would work? Dont want to get a key cut, try and start the car and not work and wipe the other key as well.

I have tried researching but cant find anything on this particular issue. Any help would be amazing.

Just require a normal key to be cut. My spare keys on both of my ek9's have just been plain metal keys. Only the uk cars had coded keys

I also have a autowatch alarm key fob with mine

Ok. Just was really quite nervous in case the car had a melt down and wont start at all after just putting a key in it.

Going by what b16 mini said, i would say that you would need to get them programmed.... not 100% sure though
