I bought an S80 tranny with 4.7FD from a 98spec ITR and fitted it on my Civic SIR with a B18B block. Initial testing of the tranny showed a grinding noise on the 3rd gear most notably at high rpms. My friend had a spare S4C tranny with 4.4FD from an EK9 and he agreed to get his 3rd gear set...

it really depends on the head work(porting) for these cams' potential to be maximized. I have seen a B18 set-up using s2s2 cams with CTR pistons and supertech valves and crower spring ret made only a 7whp increase.

i think also you should keep the box..
