Guys,

Do any of you know what the difference between the fitment of these two headers is? I've been told that its simply that the mounting bracket is about 3mm out, and that it can easily be cured by using a few washers to space it out.

Is this correct?

uk spec DC2 header has a smaller exit, but a 98 spec jap header will have teh 2.5 inch exit as found on our cars..

Cheers olly. I was thinking more in terms of aftermarket header though. After a 5zigen this month, but the only place I can find only has the DC2 fitment headers in stock.

If the difference is literally a 3mm gap between the lower fixing bracket, i'll go for it. Just dont wanna get a DC2 fitment 5zigen & find that any other clearance is affected.

where you getting your 5 zigen from? nemsis? i have to buy one from somewhere next month

Yeah, that was the plan, they reckon about £370 including VAT & delivery. Asked why the price has gone up & they say its a revised design.

I'd be happy with the older model but cant seem to find it anywhere...

teh dc2 is essentially teh same engine but not destroked so i wouldnt see it being a problem although i have never tried a dc2 mani on an EK9 so i cant give you 100% answer

Will the DC2 manifold fit without any clearance issues then

It will fit without any issues, it'll just hang lower, nothing to worry about unless you have your car lowered too much :p

on the subject, would much difference be seen by fitting a stock teg r header to a 9 ?

if it's the 98spec 4-1 unit, it ought to show some improvement - otherwise the 96spec and the EK9 ones are the same.

dont use a ukdm teg mani either, they'r very small and have small collector pipe

as said above jdm 98 spec is only one thats worth having.

Yep the 96 dc2 and the ek9 share the same manifold, the 98 dc2 manifold is defo worth upgrading to it's a very very good manifold

However like said above steer well clear of the uk spec DC2 manifold as it's primary pipes are very small and it only has a 2.25 '' collector, in a word it's CRAP lol

yeah heard it was a cracking manifold as is the oem ek9 one ! can get new teg r manifolds for around £300 making sure its the 98 of course. worth a thought.
