Here in Ireland next year they will be banning noisy exhausts. Does anyone know can you keep your exhaust if its under a certain noise level or if you use a silencer in the exhaust will that do??

My tuner was saying the same thing is going to happen in the UK next year too.Are you in Northen Ireland dude?. Basically they're coming down hard on anyone with a noisey exhaust. The government seem to find lame ways each year to waste tax payers money:angry2:

In the republic of Ireland. I wanted to put A spoon n1 exhaust on but with this stupid law coming in I dont know what exhaust if any I can put on :angry2:

We have this "law" for years now here in Cyprus, lots and lots of fines , BUT, cops are using their ears to measure the desibels which is btw illegal since the goverment does not provide them with the appropriate equipment.....
I've heard yesterday in news something about exhaust noises and new regulations enforced by EU......:blabla:

Ye, Ive seen the police collar a few dudes at cruises (mainly the chavs brigade with stupidly loud bin cans on the back of their cars) claiming their exhausts are not road legal etc, and given them x amount of days to have them removed.
All the occasions Ive seen this happen, they did'nt have any gadgets to measure DB, so as Manos said, it was done by ear. But I'm pretty sure in the new year, they'll be armed with something to show how loud your car actually is. Does anyone know what the legal DB limit is for a road car in the uk?

in japan i think it's a max of 90db for jasma certification, eu & us standards may vary.

Mugen is your answer  hehehe, excellent exhaust system and it ain't a noisy exhaust

i heard about this law a few months ago but im not sure there bringing it in i thought it was all gone since ivor calleley was sacked

Its not goin to happen, trust me on that, its like the law on tnted windows!!! Sure half the gobsh*tes in the dail have them on their cars ne way. Loud exhausts, what bout ferrari's n all, they gonna get banned off the raod cause the db's are too loud. I have a buddy club spec 3 exhaust, which i will stand by and say is prob one of the loudest on the market, my car is louder than half the car at mondelo. I got a silencer with the exhaust except i never use, i go through check points, in front of guarda cars n not once i have been pulled or cautioned over it. except for the neighbours moanin about it at 3 in the mornin. Go out n buy the loudest exhaust u want cause the law won't be comin in!!!!

i built a kit car in the summer and had it SVA tested and the regulations state, that it has to be 101db or lower at 2/3's the engines maximum rpm. My kit car was 100 :) it sounds awesome. Mugen will probly be your best answer, if they start hitting it hard.

Exhaust fines is common up here, they have the equipment in several traffic cars and they have a blitz of fines every month or so. There used to be a way to get out of it but they have recently started quoting a different act which is a pain in the @rse.

all i no is if it comes in ill either get a mugen twin loop or pu the standard type r axle back exhaust back on...i not takin out my decat tho only for the nct.

Swapped my RS*R for a Mugen yesterday, best mod i've done to the 9!

It's so nice to be able to hear the stereo at 70/80mph:D It sounds awesome in VTEC too but I definitely need the Mugen airbox now for a bit more noise.

I miss the backfiring from the RS*R, though:eek:

Man im glad i live here in chicago then . We have all the american muscle car dudes with open exhausts and all the harley guys riding around . I never thought I would say thank you to a Muscle car or harley guy .. man I need to go have a beer ...

Hi, you can instead get hold of the Spoon Street type which i think is discontinued by Spoon but still found online etc... i delighted with it & its a alternative to the twin loop by Mugen :win:
