Tein RA - adjusting ride height

I have a set of tein RA`s on my ek4(sir) which i think are excellent, i just wanted to know how i would go about adjusting the ride height on them without accidentally adjusting i dunno preload or something or that sort?

Re: Tein RA - adjusting ride height

ok, looks like you cant adjust preload independantly of height on these coilovers, you can only adjust height, the collar that the helper spring sits on is adjustable, spinning it down will cause you to lower ride, spinning it up will raise your ride height. make sure to turn the first perch then the second one on to it so they lock against each other.

ok, so in the most simplest possible terms,
i would loosen the lower collar,
then turn the other collar making it lower,
then just tighten the lower collar to the higher one?

and this would only adjust my ride height, not anything else?

thanks for the help guys

Re: Tein RA - adjusting ride height

the collar only adjust height m8. by the looks of your coilover, it looks like its preset.

Re: Tein RA - adjusting ride height

Learn about Tein here:
TEIN USA | PRODUCTS

The RA was discontinued a while back. I believe the monoflex replaced it. I personally never liked the RA's since they had no low speed dampening which made them very rough around the city.

But I guess that's the price you pay for a more track oriented damper.

Surely thats wrong, look at tein picture - that type of coilover isnt like the D2 and Cusco where the lower shock body adjusts the ride height.
On those teins, in order for you to adjust ride height you adjust the spring perch, therefore affects shock travel/stroke, So with these teins, the lower you go the less dampening you get. = Shit, basically. Sorry.
And the Cusco below clearly shows the perch on the lower shock body which alters the height without affecting the spring, spring rate and shock travel.

Damn blinx

wait, what?? i think your getting spring rate and shock travel mixed up, if you lower the spring perches you reduce shock travel but that does not affect spring rate.
