Found this on Vtec Direct and was curious if anybody knew anything more about it ? At £4.4 it's a pricey bit of kit.

1) What kind of power/torque gains could be expected from this ?

2) What other mods would be sensible to do at the same time as installing this to optimise efficiency ?

3) Would this be a suitable base to turbo from at a later date ?

4) How much of the B16B's character would be lost ?

5) Would a Frankenstein build with a B20 bottom end produce similar effects ?

6) Would a K20 swap be cheaper/more beneficial ?

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks Chris

1) over 200whp/150trq

2) I/H/E, injectors, engine mounts, fully upgraded transmission, cooling system, custom tuned ECU

3) No

4) I would be wary of revving it as high for an extended period of time

5) Yes or using a crank/rod setup from a B18B

6) Maybe

Thanks very much for such quick info, will have to delve a bit further then I think.

dont forget were talking about jun here, the same company that sells a $3500 intake manifold, there parts are grossly overpriced.

1. without any other mods, 175whp 120tq
2. if you still have money left over? its still an NA engine, all the same rules apply, I H E, gears, cams, headwork, ecu, etc...
3. suitable?? NO.
4. without knowing the stroke of the crank i cant say.
5. see MFactorys response
6. yes, by the time you get that stroker kit, pull out your engine, disassemble, reassemble, buy a new headgasket, new bearings, its gonna get VERY expensive VERY quickly.
