Good question, I have the same doubt, because in all japan translated magazines info I've found on the internet, they refer to 98+ facelift model as a type rx, For example, my car is 99 ek9 and i have key less entry! maybe they're correct! :nerv:

Yea, that's correct and people have the impression that Type Rx is a 3rd type of EK9, after E-EK9 and GF-EK9........They also think its lighter, faster than the other "two" etc......bullshhhhhhit!!! Type Rx is the GF-EK9(the facelift EK9 we all know) with the difference that some GF-EK9s were titled as Rx and have difference pedals.
So rvm, if you just put some aluminium pedals, then you own a EK9 Type Rx buddy!! :D

well form what i know about intagra type r's and intagra type rx's

The only differences are
alu pedals
keyless entry
floor mats as standard
momo steering wheel

also if u were lucky enough to get the chequred flag pack (as i did ha ha)
u get 6 disc changer and slightly quicker steering rack.

the rx as far as im aware is 98 spec above so its same as ek9 spec above..

i would persume both are same itr, ctr except never heard od chequred flag pack for ctr

Cool! I got Mugen pedals already :woot:

The 5 extra bits you get with a Rx over the GF-ek9 face lift are

1. Alloy pedals.

2. Polished Carbon effect heater console surround.

3. Remote central locking.

4. CD Player.

5. Red Stitched gear gaiter.

Hmm, pretty much all models that are 99-00 are RX. It's just more accessories.

The fastest is 98 Spec R which is about 40kgs lighter @ 1050kg. You can buy a lot of the acessories from Honda. The aluminium pedals are same as the ITR. I've got a set waiting to put on. I also bought a rear rubbish bin that I use to keep my car tidy... hehehe

Check this site out, they will ship internationally.

Are you sure about number 4? I think the GF-EK9(december 1998) has it.

I am sure they were fitted as standard to the Rx but a option on all others. Doesn't really matter JDM cd player usually gets changed in uk (radio 2 only), remote locking isnt needed when everyone fits a CAT1, gear gator £10 on ebay etc.
Cheers Dunx

Sorry to bring up an old thread! Just looking into the differences between the pre and the facelift EK9s... Are there any differences in the engine? Like with the DC2 they made some small changes to the engine to help it squeeze more power out(can't remember what off the top of my head) and with the EP3 they put in a lighter flywheel on the facelift. Also is the bodykit more aerodynamic on the facelift like on the EP3?

AFAIK engine specs are the same...
