I know in honda's you have to jump the ECU connector for the timing light to work correctly.
But how do you do it on OBD2 ecu's? I know the fact jump means the use of a jumper or a wire to connect 2 pins. But can someone please guide me where or what exactly should I jump? I never did this before, I am using a cheap timing light without digital reading, and I know I have to connect it to negative on bat and positive, and the magnet wire go's to spark plug cable number 1. With the engine running on idle, I should check the marks on the Crankshaft Pooling. There are 3 marks at same distance from each other. fisrt is 14 grade, second is 16 and thirth is 18 grade. By moving the distributor I should get the marking centre on the midle on that is the 16 grade, and there I have the engine running on the correct timing. Only thing I dont know is how exactly should I jump the OBD2 ecu. Any pic or diagram that can be a guide for me, will be helpfull. Thanks in advance ![]() .

Re: How to jump the OBD2b ecu for timing
Must jump the service check connector, the blue connector. Its not inside ECU
On my 99 ek4 the blue connector is on center dashboard, on 96-98 EKs are near ECU http://alflash.com.ua/Honda/scCivic.jpg http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/02...528005f5b1.jpg |

And I have OBD2 ecu and B16B engine, but swapped into EG6. EG6 blue connector is same near ECU as from on 96-98 EK's?? I have took out my OBD1 ecu and now after swapping my OBD2 so many time's, but I never have seen this blue connector. Maybe its hiding somewhere under the dash, next to the ecu. Thanks for the info and photo, I'm getting closer cheers ![]() .

Re: How to jump the OBD2b ecu for timing
The blue connector its a open connector.
I think EG6 its same as EK 96-98, near ECU. In EK 96-98 the blue connector its atached on that green rubber, just for hang the connector. Look for SCS connector in google in EG6, maybe can help u sorry for my english |
