Temp Insurance

Hey, Im looking to get insurance for around 1 month on-an EK9,
Im 20yr old, 2yr NCB and im 21 next month.

I've already had a quote for 1600 TPFT which i think is a-bit pricey.

The reason I wana to get 1 Month Insurance is, I want to get a Full 12 Month policy when Im 21 which means I can get Insured Fully comp & hopefully less than £1600.

Does anyone know of any Companies that will Insure me for 1 Month at 20?

Any info appreciated.

Re: Temp Insurance

why not insurence it for a year and pay monthly. when the month comes to an end call them up to cancel. if that works

Re: Temp Insurance

they will ask you to pay a large deposit so it will end up costing around £600 just for 1 month, insurance companies are wise to that

Re: Temp Insurance

Yeah they do that how ever don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure when I payed my deposit (first payment) they didn't charge me for the 2nd month and I pay £160 a month so iwould notice that missing lol
so therefore you could try paying monthly, doing it for 2 months instead of one. Just a thought
o and that was with directline by the way so not sure if they will insure ek9s

Re: Temp Insurance

I was thinking of Insuring myself for 12Months & paying Monthly...,
Though i've heard that they will charge for 2-3Months Insurance If I do that.

The only other option is-to wait till im 21, But have seen the car I want & want to get it ASAP.

Any other Ideas??

Re: Temp Insurance

Can't you just get the car and not drive it for a month?

Or get someone alot older to take out the one month policy and have you as a named driver, that might make it alot cheaper, I know it isn't legal but it'll only be for a month?

If I was to get the car it would still have to be insured to drive it home.

I'll try that with the Insurance, Cheers.

Re: Temp Insurance

You could always transport it on a trailer.. Or get an older person to swap over insurance for a day just to drive it home.. Then wait the month and insure it fully for yourself

Re: Temp Insurance

I'm 20 with 3 years ncb, also no claims. My insurance is ~£1100. When I lived in the midlands it was closer to £1600 with the same insurer/ncb ect. Lovin' it down south! O, I'm with Bell btw.

The car has to have insurance in order for someone to be able to drive it 3rd party with their own insurance.
